Marty has run the New York City Marathon every year since 1980 and finished his 43rd tonight as the last man across the line. He said it would be his final one his mind is still willing, but his body isn’t.

The runner’s name is James Thomas, not Marty. The person who filmed and spoke with him (@MickmickNYC) confirmed this. He is not the 90-year-old Marty Granoff (who ran his 6th NYC Marathon in 2026, last previously in 1983).
