so when everyone thought Facebook was spying through your phone it turns out tv makers were the ones doing it all along, this is a nightmare
turns out it classifies what audio it hears, before reporting back to samsung. sensor preferences, dog-barking and baby-crying event counters, and camera streaming duration are built into telemetry paths.

We finally have an explanation for “Facebook is listening to me through my phone”. They’d never do that (and it’s not really possible). Turns out literally everyone else was — and then selling that to ad data brokers.
WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

We need @PalmerLuckey to make the good dumb TV ASAP
this is pretty evil and clever. so if your samsung TV model doesnt have a microphone, it will look for connected devices with one, such as a soundbar or a connected bluetooth device. this gets shipped off to bixby.

Welp got my weekend homework
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

Scientists found a way to flush Alzheimer’s plaque out of the brain in minutes. Without any surgery and drugs. Your brain has a waste-clearance network called the glymphatic system. It flushes out toxic proteins and dead cells. But it only really activates during deep, slow-wave sleep. If you don't sleep, the trash piles up. Over time, that buildup leads to cognitive decline and Alzheimer's. Until today. Researchers just published a paper proving they can manually trigger this cleaning cycle. Without you ever going to sleep. They used 40.68 MHz ultrashort waves (USW) beamed non-invasively into the brain. Within 10 minutes, the brain's fluid flow rapidly accelerated. The waves artificially synchronized the neurons into a Delta state, the exact frequency of deep sleep. This forced the brain's water channels to open and start flushing out the system. They tested it on mice with traumatic brain injuries and Alzheimer's pathology. The brain swelling dropped. The toxic proteins were cleared out. Cognitive deficits actually improved. No surgery. No massive chemical interventions. Just a frequency.

somehow signing in to chase.com on a muse browser has become 'endangering the entire global financial system' the plot has been lost
This is insane. We cannot allow AI agents to go into your bank account and act independently without your authorization. But that is what’s happening right now. Left unchecked, AI could endanger the entire global financial system — including your bank account. Pause AI NOW!

arc is dead long live arc
Introducing Ardia, the open-source Arc I've been working on this for a few months now. It's feature-complete, already used by a bunch of former Arc users, and extremely performant. github.com/mantrakp04/ardia

Can’t believe I’m out here retweeting Sacks but he’s absolutely right about the distinction of authorized vs unauthorized agents
There’s a world of difference between user-authorized agents (Muse, Instinct, Grokbot, etc.) and true unauthorized/rogue agents that could constitute cyberattacks. Most of the activity described in the Axios story appears to be the former: customers sharing credentials with agents so they can take actions on their behalf. This may violate bank terms requiring humans to log in themselves, but these are in no way cyberattacks. The direction banks should go is to support user-directed agents. For example, Amex is an authorized connection in Muse, making it easy for users to grant, limit, and revoke access. Read-only permission levels are a sensible interim step. Several banks already support or are moving toward them. Full write access (with user credentials) is a different risk category and should be approached carefully. Frightening the public by blurring the line between user-authorized agentic behavior and cyberattacks is irresponsible.
