lol I made an AI video where Alex walks me through the story behind Bricktopians 😭
from how it started back in 2021 to the 10,000 unique characters, the launch, and how the community has grown since then.
I even had to add my own experience because tbh, I’ve learned a lot from this community too. Shoutout @AlexIsBuilding , @MxGarnero , @Crypto__Larisa and @josephweb3 everyone who’s been part of the journey.
this was actually fun to put together. what do you think? 👀

Honestly, seeing the work pay off felt good.
When I started creating content around @bricktopians, I wanted to do more than just make posts. I wanted to explore the world, experiment with ideas, tell stories, and find creative ways to bring Bricktopia to life.
That journey led to the video I’m sharing again below. What started as an idea became something I put time and creativity into, and seeing it recognized by the community made the experience even more meaningful.
But one win doesn’t mean the journey ends here.
There is still so much to explore, more ideas to experiment with, and more ways to show what can be created within Bricktopia.
For me, that is part of the excitement. Every new idea is an opportunity to build something different, improve my creativity, and connect with people who share the same interest.
If you missed last week’s winning video, take a moment to watch it in the quoted post below and let me know what you think.
And if you are also building, creating, or exploring Bricktopia, keep going. You never know which idea might be the one that stands out.
One win down. More ideas to build.

When I first stepped into @bricktopians, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
I followed a signal I could not explain, met @AlexIsBuilding, and thought I was simply beginning a new journey.
But some discoveries lead to more questions than answers.
In Episode 2, the mystery goes deeper.
A strange light awakens above the city. An unknown message begins to reveal itself. And I discover that there’s more happening in Bricktopia than I ever imagined.
Then comes the League.
But what is it really? Why was I called? And what lies beneath everything the city knows?
I’m starting to realize that I wasn’t brought here just to explore.
Maybe there’s a reason I’m here after all.

One thing I really like about @bricktopians is that they didn’t forget where the story started.
Before the collection launched in 2021, two people were talking about how much they’d love to have a beer together.
The problem? One was in North Carolina, the other was in Belgium.
So @AlexIsBuilding and the team told the guy in North Carolina, if you can pack your bags and leave immediately, we’ll get you a ticket to Belgium.
He did.
Then they announced in the Discord that anyone else who made the trip to Belgium would get a free Bricktopian.
Over the next 48 hours, people travelled from across Europe to meet at one bar for what became known as “Beers in Belgium.”
That moment eventually became part of the collection through the Belgian skin tone trait.
And now, BricktoWorld starts with a Belgium beer café, with planes landing from overseas.
There’s something really satisfying about seeing a story from the early days become part of what comes next.
When you’re building for the future, don’t forget to celebrate the history that got you there.

Bricktopians is looking beyond NFTs, building toward something holders can actively participate in.
BricktoWorld brings interactive experiences, player vs player activities and new ways for the @Bricktopians community to engage with the project.
Here’s @alexisbuilding explaining where Bricktopians is heading next.

turns out the best use of bricks is still building
there was a @bricktopians update in discord
the bit that stood out to me:
"many shots on goal"
when crypto spending dried up, they didn't launch a token, chase whatever was hot or disappear
they adapted
found a new source of revenue in the AI market, got back into positive territory and now they're building again
Bricktopians World, PvP, burns, holder-gated experiences
four years later, they're still earning the right to take the next shot

made a little comic story about my journey with @bricktopians, the creators community, and @AlexIsBuilding
just a fun way to tell the story and show what makes brick special to me. ⬇️
🧱 bricktopians: the story of one creator
panel 1
it all started with one decision…
get a bricktopian and join the creators community.
little did i know, that decision would turn into one of my favorite experiences in web3.
panel 2
welcome to bricktopians.
not just an nft collection.
a community full of creators, opportunities, and people actually trying to build.
then i met @AlexIsBuilding.
panel 3
alex says:
it’s not just about holding a brick.
it’s about what we can build together.
and honestly, that mindset is what made me stick around.
panel 4
then the opportunities started coming…
creator campaigns.
creator leagues.
collabs.
community events.
suddenly, being a holder meant you could actually participate.
panel 5
then came the bricktopians creator league.
i decided to take my shot.
result: #4 🏆
prize pool: 1 brick
not bad at all.
panel 6
but then alex did something unexpected…
“let’s add an extra brick for every winner.”
that was one of those moments where you realize the founder actually cares about rewarding the people putting in the work.
panel 7
and that’s when it clicked.
good people.
real opportunities.
great energy.
bricktopians started feeling less like an nft project and more like a creator community / agency where everyone has a chance to contribute.
panel 8
me looking at the city like:
“yeah… i’m proud to be a bricktopian.”
more creators.
more opportunities.
more wins.
panel 9
big respect to @AlexIsBuilding and the entire bricktopians team.
you’re not just building an nft project.
you’re building people.
🧱 bricktopians.
real community. real opportunities.

for the past few weeks, I’ve been writing about @bricktopians but today I want to take a moment to recognize some of the legends behind the community
first,
> @AlexIsBuilding the number one Brickman, the creator behind this wonderful community, and one of the biggest driving forces behind the community
indeed, what you’ve built deserves its flowers
> @Crypto__Larisa deserves her flowers too
she’s been behind so many crypto deals and opportunities for creators, always looking for ways to help us earn, grow and get involved in meaningful opportunities
she just has one tiny problem… she’s terrible at replying DMs 😭😭😂but that can be fixed
we’ll get her there, I still appreciate her regardless ❤️
> also @knowixbuilds , who has been doing a lot behind the scenes, especially with crypto gigs updates and sharing opportunities that have helped many of us stay informed and connected
> then there’s @MxGarnero , who constantly keeps the chats alive with his energy, humor, and genuine engagement with the community members
I so much love Max, he's funny asf😂
you can always count on Max to bring the humor vibes
i’m genuinely grateful to all of you
and to other brick legends and the entire Bricktopians community, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of this journey to grow with you, learn with you and earn alongside you.
Proud to be a Bricktopian 🧱❤️
Nothing better than seeing bricks building bricks 🧱🔥
i joined @bricktopians pretty early, and looking back,
i don’t think i fully understood how much being part of this ecosystem would lead to.
what started with me simply being around the community eventually turned into actual opportunities for me.
i’ve made $5,000+ from content deals through opportunities that came from being involved with bricktopians.
that’s a big reason why i still talk about this project today.
because when you look at bricktopians from the outside, it’s easy to just see another nft collection from the 2021 cycle.
but the ecosystem kept expanding.
you have the original bricktopians collection, bricktoforge, brain boots, bricktOrigins, the community, and now even things like takeover coming out of the same ecosystem.
and what stands out to me is that alex never really stopped building around it.
five years later, @AlexIsBuilding is still around, still creating content, still doing community sessions, and still finding new ways to turn the audience around bricktopians into something bigger.
i’ve also seen the community run campaigns that actually give people a reason to participate, especially around content and creator opportunities.
that part has directly affected me.
i joined early, stayed active, started creating, and eventually turned that involvement into over $5k in content deals.
so when i talk about bricktopians, it isn’t just because i hold an nft or because i like the art.
i’ve personally benefited from being part of the ecosystem.
and that’s probably the biggest thing i’ve learned from watching bricktopians over the years.
the nft can be the entry point, but the community, the people, the opportunities and the ecosystem around it are what can actually keep something alive.
five years later, they’re still building.
and i’m still here, still creating, and still stacking bricks.
Bricktopians retweeted
It’s still the start of the week so I don’t want to add to your already long day but here’s how I see life
I think if I see something worth it I should share so let’s down to business
When it comes to NFTs there are a lot of NFTs you can buy because you like the art
Then there are NFTs where the artwork is basically your entry ticket into something bigger
And that’s how I look at @bricktopians
You’re getting a unique Bricktopian, but owning one also puts you inside an ecosystem that has been building around creators since 2021
And if you’re actually trying to make money as a Web3 creator, this is where it gets more interesting
BricktoCreators gives Brick holders access to paid Web3 brand deals posted directly in the community
You also get resources around pitching, landing ambassadorships, creator workshops, feedback and insights from people already navigating this space
Plus, the community keeps giving you reasons to stay active through challenges and creator competitions
So the value isn’t just:
“here’s your NFT, enjoy the PFP.”
It’s more like:
you own the Brick → you enter the ecosystem → you meet creators → you learn → you create → you find opportunities
And that’s a much better reason to own an NFT
🤝 Paid partnership

I talked about why I think @bricktopians has managed to stay relevant since 2021.
But there’s another part of the story that I find interesting.
The person behind the vision (@AlexIsBuilding)
A community doesn’t stay alive for years by accident.
It takes someone willing to keep showing up, listen to the community and keep finding new ways to build around it.
That’s something I think a lot of NFT founders miss.
They focus so much on the mint, the art and the hype but forget that people are the actual community.
@bricktopians kept building around theirs, and that has created opportunities not just for holders, but for creators too.
That’s the part I wanted to highlight today.
Happy Sunday fams 🧱
Let’s have a little chat about NFTs and their communities.
Lately, I’ve seen so many NFT projects launch with crazy hype, only for everything to go quiet a few months later.
But @bricktopians has been around since 2021 and they’re still building.
Why?
They never stopped giving their community reasons to stay.
From creating opportunities for their holders to supporting creators and continuously building beyond the NFT itself, they’ve kept the community at the center.
And honestly, this is where I think a lot of projects are missing the point.
The NFT is just the beginning.
Most 2021 NFT projects had one act.
Mint the collection, build the hype, then slowly disappear.
Alex did something different with @bricktopians.
He didn’t just keep the project alive.
He kept building himself as a creator while continuing to build the project as a founder.
Bricktopians started in 2021 as a 10K NFT collection, but Alex’s work eventually became much bigger than the collection itself.
Through @AlexIsBuilding, he started openly sharing what he was learning about the Web3 creator economy.
How to get your first Web3 job.
How to land an ambassadorship.
How smaller creators can get paid.
How brands can actually work with Micro-KOLs.
He wasn’t just posting advice either.
He turned that knowledge into Takeover, a Micro-KOL agency that has worked with brands and protocols across Web3.
So there was a real feedback loop happening.
He was learning by building, teaching what he learned, then using those lessons to build even more.
And instead of keeping that knowledge separate from Bricktopians, he started bringing it back into the community.
Workshops on building a creator career.
Sessions around monetization and relationships.
Creator opportunities and deal flow.
And eventually, the Brickto Creators League.
The League gives holders a reason to actually create consistently, experiment with their voice and develop their skills instead of simply holding a JPEG.
One September edition recorded 289 submissions in its first week.
That part is what interests me most.
Alex’s second act wasn’t about abandoning the NFT and moving onto something new.
He took what he learned as a founder and creator and fed it back into the community he built.
Bricktopians became more than a collection.
It became a place to learn the creator game, practice it, build connections and potentially find opportunities.
And that says a lot about Alex as a founder.
He didn’t just build a product and wait for the market to come back.
He kept evolving.
Founder → creator → educator → operator.
Then he brought all of those experiences back into Bricktopians.
That’s the part of the story I think deserves more attention.
Bricktopians retweeted
Bricktopians hands creators characters that already have a whole identity baked in, and honestly, I didn’t expect that to matter as much as it does.
@bricktopians already has a personality before you even touch him. he has the look, the vibe, the world, the lore. you’re not staring at a blank screen wondering, “okay, what am i even supposed to post today?”
you already have a character standing there waiting for you to do something with him.
you just grab Brick and go.
turn him into a meme. make a short video. write a random story. put him in some completely unserious situation he has absolutely no business being in.
and somehow, it still works.
that’s genuinely the fun part for me.
i’m a content person through and through, and i’ve spent enough time trying to create content from absolutely nothing to know how valuable it is to have a starting point.
give me Brick and five minutes and i’ll probably find a way to put him somewhere he was never supposed to be.
the dumber the situation gets, the more fun it becomes.
that’s why Bricktopians + creators is a combination i could mess around with for a very long time without getting bored.
the character already does half the work.
i just have to press start.
Today I was at the gym and something came to my mind: “Imagine @bricktopians never existed.”
Not just the NFT.
Imagine the creator ecosystem, the opportunities, the connections and everything that has come from it simply never happened.
Then I started thinking about how many creators have passed through Bricktopians, how many have gotten opportunities through the community, and how many have improved their craft because they had a place where other creators were doing the same thing.
Bricktopians launched in 2021 with 10,000 animated characters.
But somewhere along the way, it became much bigger than the collection itself.
BricktoCreators became a core part of the ecosystem, giving creators access to paid brand deals, education, workshops, feedback and opportunities to learn how to find deals themselves.
The project even showcases earnings from individual creators on its website, and the activity is still there.
Of course, Bricktopians isn’t the only creator ecosystem in Web3. There are other agencies and communities doing work for creators too.
What makes Bricktopians stand out to me is the way it has connected the different sides of the creator journey.
For creators, it isn’t only about finding a paid opportunity. It can also mean improving your content, learning how to work with brands and projects, building relationships with other creators and understanding how to create opportunities beyond the ones that come directly to you.
For builders, having creators who understand how to communicate their ideas creates another bridge between what they’re building and the people they want to reach.
And for the wider Web3 ecosystem, these relationships matter because good creators don’t just promote things. They help explain ideas, give projects a voice, bring attention to builders and introduce new people to what is being built.
What stands out to me is how this kind of impact can create effects that aren’t immediately visible.
A creator gets an opportunity, builds experience from it, meets someone new and that relationship leads to another opportunity.
Someone improves their content because they have people around them doing the same thing.
A builder gets introduced to creators who can help tell their story, while those creators get closer to the builders and projects shaping the space.
Eventually, you stop looking at it as just a creator program and start seeing a network of people who are helping each other move forward.
That’s also why I keep coming back to the original thought.
If Bricktopians never existed, we wouldn’t only be missing a collection.
We would be missing the people who found opportunities through it, the relationships that came from those opportunities, and the work those people went on to create afterwards.
You can’t really measure all of that from a follower count or the number of NFTs in a collection.
Sometimes the impact of an ecosystem is found in the people who became better creators, better builders or simply got their first real opportunity because that ecosystem was there.
And that’s what made me think about Bricktopians differently today.
The real question is how many creators, opportunities, connections and ideas would look different today if @bricktopians had never existed.
Bricktopians retweeted
one thing i’ve found about content creation since becoming a @bricktopians
it feels a lot less lonely when you’re surrounded by people who are also trying to create.
before, it was easy to think content was simply:
find an idea → write a post → hit publish → repeat.
but being around Bricktopians has made me realize there’s so much more to it.
sometimes it’s seeing someone else’s idea and getting inspired to think differently.
sometimes it’s having people genuinely engage with what you create.
sometimes it’s discovering another creator, starting a conversation and realizing you’re both working towards similar things.
and sometimes, it’s simply having a community that reminds you to keep shipping.
that’s probably what I’ve appreciated most about the Brick community.
it doesn’t feel like everyone is competing to be the loudest person in the room.
there’s room to learn, experiment, collaborate and grow.
I came into Bricktopians because I was gifted an NFT.
but somewhere along the way, I started seeing the bigger picture.
the Brick isn’t just something sitting in my wallet.
it’s become a reminder that content creation is much more enjoyable when you have the right people building alongside you. ❤️
still learning.
still creating.
still building.
Brick by Brick.
Bricktopians retweeted
I’ve been thinking about a weird question lately: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝?
Would creators in Web3 still find their way?
often times, I wonder how many creators would still be building alone, how many writers would never meet the designer they could have collaborated with?
how many creators would spend months figuring out things that someone else had already learned?
how many opportunities would stay hidden simply because the right people never crossed paths?
@bricktopians changed my perspective.
being part of a space or circle where curiosity can turn into conversations, conversations can turn into collaborations, and collaborations can turn into opportunities is the best thing that can happen to you as a creator.
Although, without Bricktopians, the creator space would still exist.
But perhaps there would be fewer places where creators could learn together, build together and grow together.
that’s definitely the real value of what @AlexIsBuilding has been building.
Not a place to chase attention.
Simply a place that reminds creators that they don’t have to figure everything out alone.
So here’s another question:
what could the next generation of Web3 creators build if they had the right people around them from day one?
Bricktopians retweeted
The NFT space is filled with derivatives, cheap knockoffs, and projects built around quick cash grabs.
Now lets dive into the the beginning of one of the NFTs that makes me still believe in NFTs
Abnormal Studios took a very different approach when building.
Instead of asking, "What can we build quickly?"
They asked:
"What's the highest-quality and hardest thing we can build?"
And then they build it.
Their genesis collection, @bricktopians , was created to push the boundaries of what NFTs can be.
10,000 unique 3D NFTs, each animated and moving in its own way.
Unlike traditional collections that rely on layering pre-selected traits, every Bricktopian was born through complex physics simulations, requiring over 5 weeks of rendering with supercomputers.
That's the kind of ambition you don't see today.
But what really caught my attention is that Bricktopians was just the starting point.
Abnormal Studios is building an ecosystem where future creations can be accessed through owning a Bricktopian, while its utility is designed to reduce supply and introduce scarcity over time.
In a space today where hype often moves faster than innovation, it's interesting to see a studio focused on building something from the ground up still standing very strong
The goal? Build the impossible and create NFTs holders can genuinely be proud of.
And Bricktopians is the genesis piece of that vision.
