Aside long-drawn negotiations, UNFCCC #COP29 drew hundreds from the world over who gathered to present their tales-insights-solutions-innovation as well.
🇩🇰Sculptor Jens Galachiot carried his #art piece and requested to host it at #Bangladesh pavilion, throughout COP.
As his wife tells: "... using age-old figures, the artist (her husband) shows how a poor carries the (disproportionate) burden of a well-fed, large goddess of #justice (Justitia), symbolising double standard in real world of #climate negotiations. She (the goddess figure) is typically depicted wearing a blindfold i.e. symbolising that justice is blind and should be carried impartially. Yet, 'she' is willfully ignorant of discrimination, exploitation and inequalities against climate-vulnerable countries and how the wealthy countries are aware of the global imbalances but are reluctant to alter their current attitudes, behaviors."
Since 2002, the couple has been passionately taking this bronze "social sculpture" to places. Next destination: @wef | Davos 2025!
