Book 152 of the year is The Last House on Needless Street. Go read it right now if you want a book that will force you to devour it because you HAVE to know what happens. #BookTwt
Even if you think you know what's going on, you won't be able to predict where this book will bring you. Though in hindsight, it seems incredibly obvious. This is such a hopeful, human horror about the perseverance of mind and spirit and the multitudes we contain. It broke my heart but left me feeling a deep sense of promise about the ability to heal.

Book 153 of the year is Exhumed: Unearthing the History of the American Vampire. I attended a lecture and book signing by the author, at an opulent beautiful New England mansion, which felt like the ideal environment for this book. #BookTwt
I had the amazing pleasure of hearing Aaron speak about this book at an in-person lecture recently, and it made my brain absolutely thrum with the interconnectedness of history and the lore that binds it. I knew I had to read the book pretty much right away, and I'm so glad I did. Everything is connected and there's an eternity of stories behind the now. Life is weird and gruesome and miraculous and wonderful. Every time a famous figure was mentioned in this book, it felt like that time in Oppenheimer when Einstein came out of nowhere; just these universally-known people showing up in the strangest places.
