CELEBRATING THE FIRST YEAR OF MY LEADERSHIP A year ago, I resigned from a well paying job to volunteer full time to build the structures and policies of YALI Uganda. I couldn’t commit to both because I didn’t want to underperform at any. My choice was to give back to YALI for a year. Last week on May 6th, 2024 marked one year since I officially joined the office as the Chairperson of @YALIRLCAlumniUg . To say it’s been a fulfilling year of experience is an understatement. Every challenge was an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Leading young leaders of @YALIRLCEA has been exceptional across the spectrum of leadership. Together with my team we have achieved more than we expected. Some are highlighted below 👇 👉🏾We signed a 5 year partnership with @OfficialMubs to host us at @MUBSLeadership and co-implement the YALI Uganda Leadership and Mentorship Academy. Beyond which we are collaborating on other mutually activities. 👉🏾From no cash in our organization accounts to resources worth $52,000 across different projects. 👉🏾Developed and approved five operational policies within the first six months in office. 👉🏾Formulated and registered the YALI Multi-purpose Cooperative Society an initiative that inspires financial collaboration among alumni. This currently has over 70 alumni that have accumulated over UGX 20,000,000 in the last 10 months 👉🏾Conducted the first ever regional cluster election to strengthen our engagement and impact in the five regions of Uganda. 👉🏾Developed a 5-year strategic plan for the Chapter that is going to guide our impact and priorities for the next five years 👉🏾Increased engagement and active participation of alumni from below 100 to over 300 alumni engaged. 👉🏾Developed a Chapter website with a self-mapping tool for our over 700 alumni to showcase their work and impact in communities to possible partners and donors. This is yet to be launched to the public. 👉🏾Grown our social media platforms and general visibility of what the Chapter and alumni do across the different SDGs. Thanks to our communication expert @joanmugaba In a special way, I would like to thank my resilient team @ntendebaker @dianaawino @hope_katushabe @joanmugaba With all this achieved and more, I am now open to remote and hybrid work/consultancy to support organizational development, youth programs(SRHR, Livelihood, leadership), policy advocacy and accountability, organizational leadership roles and gender work.
