Welles Crowther, a former Boston College lacrosse player who had a trademark red bandana, was working in New York on Sept. 11, 2001. This is the story of how he led people to safety after terrorists struck the World Trade Center.

Blue Jays have shown they value splitters and Jose Soriano has one of the best in the league. SPs with highest Whiff% on Splitters: 1) Imanaga 2) Gausman 3) Soriano 4) Yesavage Soriano throws it 19% (9% in ‘25) of the time compared to 38% and 29% from Gausman and Yesavage.
BREAKING: The Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring right-hander Jose Soriano in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels, sources tell ESPN.

I think this analysis is flawed since including prospects that were traded at the deadline from the last few years skews the results. Let’s say a team traded for a stud 19 year old in 2024 or 2025; it’s extremely unlikely that they even made the big leagues yet.
We studied nearly 700 prospects traded at the deadline since 2015. Less than 7% of them have produced 5+ bWAR 😳 buff.ly/EtDTILl

This also doesn’t include our International or D2 transfers. @matthewwinick is an absolute mad man for compiling these rankings so give him a follow.

Baba Miller was one of my favorite 2nd round guys. He’s such a fluid mover at 7 foot in shoes with guard-like dribbling and passing feel. His length makes him a great defensive rebounder which leads to him being a transition monster. Such a versatile piece.

Really pumped that my Nets picked up Keon Ellis in free agency. I did a quick write up on him at the start of last season. I think he’s such a perfect bench role player ⬇️
A smart front office of a contending team should trade for Keon Ellis. Could he be the next Alex Caruso? Here’s why: 🧵

Hannes Steinbach is a role player that I’m way higher than consensus on. He provides the exceptionally rare combination of dominant rebounding (95th %tile OReb%) paired with stretch 5 capabilities (76% FT% and 34% 3P%). This could be a unicorn role player.

Imagine Steven Adams with a 3P shot? (Yes this is a bit hyperbolic)

A second action isn’t valuable just because it’s good, it’s valuable if it fits. Here are the best and worst supporting cast play type pairings by positional hub in CBB. 🧵

Big Hub Takeaways: Transition is the key as it’s the partner in the top 3 combos. Strongest fits in the whole chart. Avoid having a cast that doubles up on interior actions.

Summary: Good compliments pair an organizer (passing or transition) with movement/finishing. Redundant pairs stack two of the same thing competing for the same space.
