Bacterial blight is an early-season soybean disease favored by cool wet weather. It produces small angular reddish-brown leaf lesions with a yellow halo. The disease rarely causes economic yield loss & generally ceases when temperatures exceed 80 Β°F @CropNetwork @SoybeanScience1

Gray leaf spot of corn occurs virtually every growing season and is often more severe in corn following corn. Disease is favored by warm (80sΒ°F), humid (>90% for 12+ hours) weather. Severity depends on hybrid susceptibility and environment.
Resistant hybrids are available. Crop rotation and tillage reduce fungus survival. Foliar fungicides are available, but are less likely to be profitable if disease risk is low.

In general, chemical nematicides move more readily in coarse-textured soils than fine-textured soils, assuming adequate water infiltration.
As a result, chemical nematicides often have a larger zone of root protection in coarse-textured soils than in fine-textured soils such as silts and clays.
Moreover, the zone of protection is more vertical like a βchimneyβ to protect the developing taproot rather than horizontal to protect lateral roots.Β
Therefore, seed-applied nematicides typically work better in strongly tap-rooted crops such as cotton and soybean compared to fibrous root systems like corn.
