It’s Thunderfoot Thursday — and time for a cryptopic.
Two kings stand together. One of hide’n seek. The other of rock‘n roll. Peace’n love, baby! ✌️💟
In the late ’70s and into the ’80s the sightings were common. Somebody saw Elvis at a gas station. Somebody else saw him at a diner, or behind the wheel of a white Cadillac that should not have been there. Those stories sat right next to Bigfoot sightings in folklore Americana — a figure who was supposed to be gone, still turning up at the edge of ordinary life. Then the Elvis sightings thinned out. The Big Man’s did not. No offense to the King. One legend rested. The other kept walking. 👣
Happy Thunderfoot Thursday. Drop your favorite odd pairing in the replies 👇👇👇

🚨 Breaking: Capturing Bigfoot hits October 20th.
The Marq Evans documentary lands on the big screen in New York, Los Angeles, and other select theaters that same day. It will also be available in the U.S. for rental or purchase on Prime Video on October 20.
That date is not an accident. October 20, 1967 is the day Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed what became the Patterson-Gimlin Film at Bluff Creek.
The official line: a reel of 16mm film found in a safe “changes everything,” with the story told by Patterson’s son Clint and people connected to 1967.
Many of us have been waiting to get our eyes on the new footage. I’ll watch it. I am always open to new information when it comes to Bigfoot. I hope people will focus on the evidence — not the marketing.
Soon we’ll be able to measure it against what we already know: the PGF itself, the tracks, the gait, the 1967 technology, Bob Gimlin’s consistency, and the forensic work that has held up for decades.

I'm convinced that the kind of disclosure most UAP enthusiasts dream of will never happen. I just want simple disclosure — government acknowledges NHI are real and they've been covering up that fact for decades.
Done.

This is total nonsense coming from someone who doesn't understand General Relativity and/or warp theory. Why such nonsense is spread is beyond me. Hey dude, go read this paper that is like 27 years old even!!! Clark, C., Hiscock, W. A., & Larson, S. L. (1999).
"Null Geodesics in the Alcubierre Warp Drive Spacetime: The View from the Bridge."
Classical and Quantum Gravity, 16(12), 3965–3972.
DOI: 10.1088/0264-9381/16/12/313. Information can't pass in or out of the front or back of the bubble, it is just moved around it. So it wouldn't be like a normal "aircraft" or "meteor" with air friction. Sigh.

"It can't be true, therefore it didn't happen." Right there--an example of how the scientific method is applied to UFO cases. Did Shermer purposely omit all evidence in the Tic Tac case other than Fravor's statement, or has he simply never read any of it?

Santiago Sam: My Local Bigfoot Surprise in Orange County
I grew up in the concrete jungle of Southern California, surrounded by freeways, strip malls, and suburban sprawl. Bigfoot was always that big, scary monster lurking in the dense, misty forests far up north — nowhere near my backyard. I never dreamed we had a Bigfoot-like creature just 20 minutes from the house I grew up in.
Yet here in eastern Orange County, Black Star Canyon hides remarkable local lore. This rugged slice of the Santa Ana Mountains, named after a 1870s coal mine, offers steep brush-covered slopes, oak groves, seasonal waterfalls, and a deep sense of isolation.
Its paranormal reputation is rich: a violent 1831 clash (sometimes called a massacre) between fur trappers and Tongva (Gabrielino) people, a late-1800s murder at nearby Hidden Ranch, reports of “little people” or Black Star Waddlers (2-foot-tall dark figures with a waddling gait), mysterious lights in the sky, shadowy apparitions, possible cult remnants, and an overall heavy, watchful atmosphere that leaves hikers uneasy.
Standing out amid this potpourri of cryptid and paranormal activity is Santiago Sam — Orange County’s very own compact Bigfoot variant, named after nearby Santiago Canyon. For obvious reasons, he is the star of the canyon’s modern legends.
Unlike the towering 7–10+ foot Sasquatches of the Pacific Northwest, Sam is notably short at roughly 5’2” tall. This stature lets him expertly navigate and conceal himself in the dense scrub brush, yet he still leaves behind enormous 20-inch footprints. Reports of Sam and similar creatures date back to at least the 1990s.
Credibility comes from anonymous US Forest Service rangers who shared four sightings in or adjacent to Black Star Canyon, plus others across the Cleveland National Forest in Orange and Riverside Counties. They described elusive figures matching Sam’s profile, often accompanied by tree knocks and fleeting glimpses.
Paranormal researcher Matt Harvey (of Deep Woods Paranormal) adds compelling personal accounts from years of canyon visits since the mid-1990s. His sightings include tree knocks, an 18-inch footprint cast, and a roughly 6-foot dark brown figure staring from the brush. In one striking encounter, he observed a massive 10–14 foot gray Bigfoot standing openly — a vivid reminder of the canyon’s wild variety of cryptid activity beyond just Sam.
Skeptics cite misidentified black bears or the power of suggestion in such a historically charged place. Believers see the ranger reports and repeated firsthand experiences as evidence that something elusive persists in these hills.
Believe it or not, I’ve never been to this canyon myself. I have a friend who keeps urging me to visit, and I will most certainly do this soon (during the day, of course!).
👣 Have you hiked Black Star Canyon or had your own strange encounter there? I would love to hear your stories about this local mystery! 👇

🇺🇸👣 Memorial Day Bigfoot (1996): Yay or Nay?
Every Memorial Day weekend, I revisit one of the most debated Bigfoot clips out there: the 1996 Pate family video from Chopaka Lake, Washington. Shot on Hi-8mm during a relaxed family fishing trip, it shows a dark humanoid figure sprinting across an open field before vanishing into the trees. After 30 years, I’m still on the fence — but leaning nay. Watch the clip below and see if it changes your mind.
The Sighting
On May 26, 1996, multiple witnesses spotted it at the same time. The 20-30 second clip captures the figure moving left to right at ~8.56 mph with a 4.25-foot stride. Forensic analysis estimated it at ~5’3”. Witnesses described it as hairy, bipedal, and strangely fluid.
What hooks me every time:
• That unnaturally smooth sprint on rough terrain — why run full speed in the woods where one wrong step could wreck an ankle?
• The bizarre 8-inch height gain right before it disappears — perspective trick or something weirder? Some have speculated the subject is a Bigfoot carrying a juvenile, which could explain the apparent height increase
• Uniform dark color from head to toe with no clear clothing breaks
• The confident, seamless movement that looks anything but human
The Case for Yay
Strong multiple-witness credibility. The gait strikes some as distinctly non-human with a natural loping motion across uneven ground. Peter Byrne was initially open to it. No obvious suit seams or zippers visible. The subject appears bulkier than a human and covers ground efficiently without looking down at its feet.
The Case for Nay (My Lean)
My gut still says guy in camo or a ghillie suit booking it. M.K. Davis’s color analysis revealed green camouflage tones. Byrne later claimed it was faked by “others.” Grover Krantz dismissed it outright. The MonsterQuest sprinter easily hit 17.1 mph on the same path — faster and longer strides — undercutting the “beyond human” argument. The gait also doesn’t match classic Bigfoot reports.
My Take
This one stays on my “interesting but not conclusive” shelf. It doesn’t come close to Freeman or Patterson-Gimlin levels for me. The prosaic explanation (person in camo) holds up stronger under scrutiny, but those nagging details — the height shift, uniform look, and confident stride — refuse to let it die.
Bigfoot country is full of these ambiguous clips. Yay or nay? Does the speed convince you it’s real, or is it just a hiker booking it? Drop your take below 👇👣

Still thinking about that 2009 Lumpkin dash cam…
If that figure crossed in front of YOUR car at night and you got a clear visual, but all you had was the same blurry fleeting image as proof — and everyone here started calling you and the deputy full of crap — how would you react?
Would you stay quiet and never mention it again… or insist on what you saw and take the abuse? 👀

The 2009 Lumpkin County, Georgia Dash Cam Bigfoot Sighting: Real Encounter or Quick Hoax?
Late on the night of May 16, 2009, a Lumpkin County Sheriff’s deputy was driving a curvy rural road in the Frogtown area near the Chattahoochee National Forest. Riding along was Mary Scott, a civilian in the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. Traveling around 55 mph, they suddenly saw a large, dark, bipedal figure burst from the right and cross directly in front of their patrol car.
The deputy slammed the brakes. The dash cam captures raw shock: “What the crap? What was that? Did you see that?” “Yes.” “Holy crap. What the heck was that?” “That was on 2 feet, wasn’t it?” “Yeah.” “Oh my goodness.”
They stopped and searched. Scott reported seeing the figure moving back and forth off the road as the deputy scanned with his light. It covered serious ground in just 1.4–2 seconds with long, fluid strides.
The grainy footage shows a tall upright walker crossing past a guardrail. Enhancements highlight swinging arms and a gait many say doesn’t match a costume or bear.
The sheriff later called it a hoax — two college kids in a gorilla suit. But no photos, no public confessions, and the remote late-night location doesn’t scream “prank.”
After weighing the claims, I’m left with the video and those genuine reactions. They saw something big on two feet — clearly furry, not just a runner. They were alarmed enough to investigate. Those authentic sounds of surprise from a deputy and passenger who weren’t hunting Bigfoot that night? That’s what convinces me this was a genuine Bigfoot sighting.
North Georgia has a rich history of reports. This one stands out thanks to the dash cam and two witnesses. Fleeting? Yes. Classic? Absolutely. Keep your eyes on those back roads — you never know what might cross your path. 👣
