Why would the state pay for this? Especially after getting fleeced by LIV Golf. No idea who benefits enough to justify "significant money" to upgrade a facility that's often empty during actual racing calendar, just to attract an event with 1.4 million TV viewers last year.

This is a real possibility "if" Churchill Downs and the state of Louisiana are willing to step up and make it happen. Would need significant $$$ to upgrade the facility and add temporary seating for @BreedersCup. But it can happen. See: Lone Star Park, 2004.

Interesting 🤨 WDSU video from Pelicans practice Monday, Oct. 26 NOLA Executive Vice President Joe Dumars and forward Herb Jones after the workout. Herb is not starting or closing games and through the first three games (0-3) he's averaging a career low 17 minutes per game.
