AOC: "Not only did Susan Collins pave the way for women and people who are about to deliver a baby to have their lives endangered through defunding. But she also did it by supporting Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court...Susan Collins, one of the only Republican female senators, in a unique position to protect every woman in America, decided to declare open season on us instead."
AOC on investigation into Ilhan Omar: "It has been standing practice in order to protect the integrity of our elections, that the FBI and the DOJ do not take actions like these within a certain time frame of an election, regardless of what is happening in any circumstance of an investigation. And so the fact that this is happening in October and September tells you, period, that these agencies have been weaponized and compromised."
AOC: “Palantir, surveillance companies, these AI companies, they are going out to lunch on the $70 billion in ICE funding that Susan Collins helped rubber-stamp…Whenever this administration is targeting an individual community, it is their way of trying to wedge open the door to compromise all of our rights.”

"Today I want to take you through four statements from JD Vance that illustrate what a terrible human being he is."
Come along in today's Triad from JVL:

Q: “ Last week, there was reporting that you were in Moscow that ended up not being accurate. Were you ever planning to go to Moscow?”
Patel: “The reporting was entirely false...We engage with everyone to make sure that we can service the needs of the American people to reduce crime…By engaging our allies and adversaries alike, we are going to continue that mission because President Trump has kicked open those doors that were never opened before, so we're going to take advantage of those opportunities.”
Q: "Is the overarching goal of this [California election] litigation to leave it up to question as to whether a state should certify the results when you have this list of 20,000 alleged non-citizens?"
Blanche: "We're not trying to create chaos. It continues to baffle me...that there isn't some motivation, anything, to do something about that. Like do something besides write a nasty gram to me or to have a senator write a letter to me suggesting I'm doing something wrong."

We didn't get into it in this episode, but I'm sure you can guess what else Trump thinks about Putin’s ass.
.@TheRickWilson tells @gtconway3d that Trump is becoming his own party's biggest liability:
"He's there telling people that the economy is great and everything's sunshine and roses and that Vladimir Putin's ass smells like rainbows, and nobody believes any of it."

"Midterms can signal the waning of an old era. And they can be a preamble, a prelude, to a new one. So if future historians write of a No Kings era beginning in 2028, those of us who are still around can quietly interject to say: Don’t forget 2026."

Had a fun chat with @DanaBashCNN about her new book, The Elections That Changed the World. If you want to nerd-out about the most consequential elections in history, then this book is for you.
ok. this is an actual endorsement of the Vivek ad, unlike his earlier line that he was upset that republicans were upset with the ad. Can't really believe that they're attaching themselves to this thing.
Sen. Jon Ossoff: “The President’s visit will remind Georgians that his tariffs have driven grocery prices to their all-time high.”
Sen. Jon Ossoff: “Public money is going to the first family’s financial interests, and they want the rest of us to fend for ourselves if a hurricane hits.”
Abdul El-Sayed last debate: "My opponent here is gonna make this about him and about me, but really in the end this is about you."
Mike Rogers tonight: "My opponent's gonna try to make this about me versus him, but I'm gonna tell you this is about you."
Trump: "Half of the things that I'm telling you I did I never discussed on the campaign…I never said we were going to take over Venezuela. I never said we were going to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapon."
Trump: "I didn't get the Nobel Prize. I didn't get the Pulitzer. I should have gotten a Pulitzer for writing."
El-Sayed: “The cost of gas, the cost of groceries, it all really goes back to this war in Iran. We need a war powers resolution rather than a senator who is going to stand hip to hip with Donald Trump on this war that made no sense when it started and certainly makes no sense now. I’m looking forward to standing with my colleagues in the United States Senate to hold Donald Trump accountable for this war.”

.@AbdulElSayed explains the political current that is trying to divide Americans and the president’s part in it:
“Donald Trump's a bully…More often than not, bullies don't operate because they're truly strong; they operate because they are fragile and weak.”
