The PE team attended the @NFFC Awards Night last week. Freya Henshall awarded The Bulwell Academy with a framed dress, signed by the Nottingham Forest Super League Team. Thank you to @NFNetball for their continued support of our Academy and our students. We hope our partnership continues to go from strength to strength!
To all our parents and carers

You are invited to attend our Summer 'Drop-in' sessions from 9am to 3pm on 1, 21 and 29 August, when staff will be on hand to support you in being ready for 'Back to School'.
Our pre-loved uniform will be on display. Come and see if we have anything you need. Swap 'like-for-like' items for free or purchase at low cost on Arbor.
If you are able to donate any good quality used uniform, we would be really grateful. You can drop this off between 9am and 3pm on the above dates.
Any queries about 'Back to School' should be sent to [email protected].
We look forward to seeing you!
As we move towards the end of the academic year, you will probably be thinking about next year's uniform. Your child may have outgrown their current uniform and be in need of some replacement items for next year.
Before you decide to dispose of your old uniform, please have a look through and consider what could be re-used by another student. When you have had a sort out, please drop your items off at the Academy Reception.
The items we are hoping you will gift are: blazers; black v-neck jumpers, white school shirts, Academy ties, black school trousers, black school skirts, black formal flat shoes, Academy PE tops, black PE leggings / tracksuit bottoms / shorts and trainers that are fit for purpose.
Your items will be sorted through and added to our growing stock of pre-loved uniform. If you would like to have a look through what we have, please pop into school on our Summer Drop-in Days on 1, 21 and 29 August from 9am to 3pm.
Thank you for your support.
Congratulations to Year 10's Isaac and Maisie - our new Head Prefects for 2025-2026. #eraofbelonging #studentleadership #Opportunity

We hope Year 6 all enjoy their remaining time in their primary schools - the Class of 2025 are getting ready to leave behind all that they have known for the last 6 plus years! Some will have been in the same educational setting since they joined nursery, so we appreciate that it is a really big and emotional step to move up to a much bigger school where expectations and routines may be very different for them.
Some children may need a little extra support on that journey, and we have a fabulous Transition Team here at Bulwell who work in partnership with Nottingham City Council and Year 6 families to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
We have been delighted to work with Harriet Greenhill - Family Learning Tutor, to deliver 4 weekly Family SEAL for Transition sessions. The children have engaged in a range of activities, alongside their parents and carers, to help make their transfer to Year 7 a happy and successful one. It has been a great chance for the children to make new friends and to meet our wonderful support team at Bulwell so they know some friendly faces when they join us in September.
If your child is moving up to Year 7 at Bulwell and you have any queries, please take a look at our Transition page where you will find details of how to get in touch: bulwellacademy.org.uk/transi…
We want to wish Year 10's Jacob Henry and his TeamGB Baseball family all the best this week as they compete in Trieste, Italy, in the European U15s tournament. You can find out how the team are getting on by following @GB_Baseball or visiting: britishbaseball.org.uk/news/
Good luck, Jacob! We are all extremely proud of you! #letsgoteamgb #bulwellpride #aspire
A week ago today, we welcomed Year 6 into school for their first Transition Day as a whole year group. Children who need a little extra support with the move up to 'big school' have been visiting Bulwell on other occasions too, working with members of our supportive Transition Team. Children enjoy a range of activities on their visits, such as a creative afternoon of clay character-making along with the opportunity to make new friends and meet support staff. #transition #movingup
Well done to Year 10 Photography students, Amanda A, Charlee N, Maisie W and Morgan C, who captured these photos during our recent animal experience workshop with the fabulous Eleanor from @ZooLabUK. The visit was extremely timely for our young photographers as it fits nicely with their current 'Nature' themed photography project. More Zoo-lab photos to follow from what was a very interesting and hands-on Science lesson for those that were brave enough to to handle our little visitors!

Welcome to a wonderful sunny day! Given the increased temperatures that we are expecting over the next 2 days, following morning line-up, there is no requirement for pupils to wear their blazer and tie. Children should wear their blazer and tie on arrival to school and can remove them once they move out of line-ups. Thank you.
Year 10 Art, Photography and Textiles students visited Natureland Seal & Animal Sanctuary before heading to the Skegness seafront and pier. We gathered important primary research for current and upcoming creative projects around the theme of 'Nature'. #creatives #schooltrip🚌
As we say goodbye to this year's Student Leaders and thank them for being the voice of our student community, the recruitment process for next year's prefects team is well underway. The final selection and voting takes place this week. Next week we say hello to your new Student Leaders and Head Prefects! Good luck to the candidates for Head Prefects - we have been really impressed by your video and presentation campaigns! #bringingbulwelltogether #improvingschoolcommunity #youngleadershipopportunities
#mondaymotivation Bringing you our quote of the week linked to our school values and shared with children in Forum today... #bekind
What a fantastic science day out for our year 9s at the Severn Trent Waste Water Site at Spondon. - teaching us all about how waste water from our homes is screened and treated before being released as safe water back into our rivers.
Students also had the opportunity to work in teams to plan, build and test their own water pipe network across a town. They had a tight budget to spend and penalties for missed deadlines. Great work by all to make sure water was delivered to all the buildings within the town and no burst pipes or leaks!!
11 of our fantastic Year 7 students attended the rounders tournament at Park Vale Academy this week. They were exemplary ambassadors for Bulwell, showing aspiration and kindness throughout. Their hard work paid off as they won 2 out of 3 of their games, thus qualifying to the finals next week! Well done girls! #eraofbelonging #thisgirlcan
