Doctors at a major US insurance company deny tens of thousands of claims a month without even looking at patients’ files. “We literally click & submit,” a former Cigna doctor told @ProPublica & @Capitol_Forum. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.” The inside story 🧵

My patient with protek in for 3 weeks. New distal rca lesion. Have you seen or heard of this? @Babar_Basir
Device (Protek Duo) used for RV support can choke on distal RCA territory blood supply. Needs low threshold for appropriate (although difficult) actions @ericgnall @MaraCarolineMD @Marcmaalouf3 #ecmo @ACCmediacenter #cardiotwitter

I was recently told that testosterone is required for success in interventional cardiology. Let’s not confuse aggression with ability #ACCIC #cardiotwitter

I just received a positive COVID-19 test result after being locked down in a secured room at the Capitol where several Republicans not only cruelly refused to wear a mask but recklessly mocked colleagues and staff who offered them one. jayapal.house.gov/2021/01/11…

How to explain discrepancy between RA sat 70% and PA sat 35%? patient with severe HOCM cardiogenic shock likely precipitated by episodes of AF. PA sat normalized after a few hours on VA ecmo. Too big a discrepancy to explain by ultra low coronary sinus contribution?

Today, we will still show up. And smile in Zoom meetings. And round on patients. And submit papers. And be “essential”. But inside? We know we are not valued or respected. When we get home tonight, we can be murdered in our beds, and our killers will walk free. We are tired.
