Why is the sound turned off on the livestream of the Minneapolis Park Board meeting? It's a public meeting.

Someone just made a motion on a non-strike item, and then the sound was turned off again. It doesn't seem to be a technical issue.

The WiFi on the #Borealis is iffy in places, especially in rural Wisconsin. Amtrak says it's cellular based; signals from several carriers are combined to provide the service. If you have T Mobile, like I do, that's the weak link of them all, apparently. #Amtrak

I forgot to mention yesterday that the best part of the trip was when the Amtrak spokesman rescued an elderly woman who had locked herself in the restroom and couldn't get out. He talked her way out of it. "It happens all the time," he said. Heroes without capes!

We were supposed to arrive in Columbus, Wis., at 1:41 p.m., but we just pulled in at 2:06 p.m. Not sure why there's a delay, but it's not a huge one, I guess. #Amtrak #Borealis

Several people have asked what the difference is between Amtrak's new Borealis service between STP and Chicago and the existing Empire Builder long-distance train between Chicago and Seattle/Portland. #Amtrak #Borealis 1/3

Because the Borealis train originates in St. Paul, it will supposedly operate on time more often en route to the Windy City. Amtrak is betting big on its reliability. 2/3

The Empire Builder is late 51% of the time. Amtrak uses freight rail track, which is mostly CPKC track between STP and Chicago. CPKC has received an A grade by Amtrak when it assesses host railroads. 3/3
