Mike Knuble had one career hat trick. Cole told me last month what he remembered about it:

The race is bitterly divided on the issue of a transcontinental railroad.
The two candidates for Missouri House of Representatives District 158 have something in common. Left: incumbent R - Scott Cupps Right: D - Chris Foster

The NFL has concluded that the process surrounding Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts being cleared to play in Week 5 with a superficial blood clot “was handled appropriately,” a league source tells @TheAthletic nytimes.com/athletic/7708077…

YES! This is a great take on the subject! We talked about this on the show a few weeks back. You can't just treat it like poker or blackjack, cos you don't necessarily get the time for the math to work in your favor. What's that line, the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent? Same idea. You want the information; you don't want to go with the edge lean every single time just cos it says 51%.
Kyle Shanahan says a 51% analytics recommendation won’t convince him to go for it because he gets one shot, not an hour at a blackjack table “I don’t want to hear about it if it’s 51% of the time we should go for it.” “As I always say, I’m not sitting here playing Blackjack for an hour with no one else at the table, and eventually I’ll get 51% of it. Like, I have this one try, and I have a feel for it. I’ve been doing it too long.” “But what I want to know from him, when it’s not a feel, when it, no, this is 98%. We don’t even need to talk about it. So we don’t need to talk about it. Tell me when it’s that, and I’ll just do it.”

It’s all meathead, gladiator journalism. Which is why I used the verb “covering.” The NFL is such a farce sometimes.
Replying to @ByTimGraham
I think the subject of how commited he was, comes because Michael Robinson suggested the injury was used as an excuse for his low level of playing.

And we also have media members who share agents with the players and coaches and GMs, all trying to push their narratives into mainstream thought.

I think my incredulity is pretty clear. I’m shocked that this chain of events could happen in the 2026 National Football League and that the framing would be that Jalen Hurts is heroic.
Are you upset that Tom made an article showing how insanely committed he is? Or upset because you think he actually posing the question? I’m confused

You seem tizzied.
He’s doing his usual “get everyone worked up into a tizzy” and then die on the “I’m right and you’re all wrong” hill. It’s been his schtick for years. I’m sure he’ll block me for this. 😂

How COMMITTTED he is? WTF are we even covering anymore?
How committed is Jalen Hurts to football? After initially being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London, doctors told him not to sleep as a precaution, so he had been awake for roughly 36 hours when he started against the Jaguars, throwing for 220 yards and a TD.

Bills are 5-1 and the highest-scoring team in the NFL. In most cases, this should be cause for celebration. This isn’t most cases. My thoughts on why the Bills defense is the flaw that could sink their Super Bowl hopes, and why the time to act is now: nytimes.com/athletic/7703520…

That story was written in training camp, sir, based on an exclusive interview between just him and me. You should read it.
Why didn’t you say this to his face after the game, you keyboard warrior.
