Seeing lots saying the Jets got burned bad on this trade.
This is a goalie trade afterall, folks.
This is the most a goalie has been traded for in 10-20 years.
The Roy trade in '95, Andersen traded for an immediate 1st and 2nd in '16 and perhaps Luongo for Markstrom trade in '14 (worked out after the fact... Markstrom wasn't very good in Florida) rival it.
For a 33 yo goalie (who has been one of the best but is showing some signs of decline), who sat and took a suspension to start the year and lost money because he wasn't going to play for that team/country anymore.
I mean... given the circumstance... pretty good.
Mercer is a legit middle 6 C and Command, taken 12th overall in 2026, looks pretty, pretty good and is popping off early in the J20 in his D+1. And there's some other pieces too.
Well done, Winnipeg Jets, well done.

He dealt with the goddamn customers so that the engineers didn't have to. He had people skills. He was good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that?

Celebrini could go pointless for the next 43 games and still would cross over 200 games well into the superstar producing range. He's alright.
Castagna and Suniev aren't even top 5 prospects for the Flames and I think they might have something in both.
Suniev isn't a driver but if he plays with somebody who is and can get him the puck, could be deadly.
Castagna looks the part of a very, very good 4th liner.
The contract for Tristan Luneau was a bit spicy based on 14 games played... but he looks pretty good in the model. Nice production spikes after being drafted. Contract probably looks like a steal after this year.
Yeah... that shirt is gonna need to be bought by me. Yep.

Toronto adds another star to the mix (just barely) with that Marchenko trade. He's been trending way up on the production the last few years. Reminds me of Buchnevich being traded by the Rangers right as he was hitting his peak stride. Like this for TML!
