I’ve just acquired a complete set of the insanely beautiful King Penguin books, published between 1939 and 1959.
76 in total, with cover illustration by some of the greatest designer-illustrators of their age.
The set is in excellent condition. All dust jackets complete and clean. All first editions.
Although there’s a lot of cross over between the artists featured in the series and my ‘day job’, selling these sort of books is not my main business.
Before I send to auction, is there anyone on X who would be interested in buying the collection?

Original, and rare, London Transport folding Underground pocket map, printed on thin card, No. 2 1934.
An early version of the iconic diagrammatic map. Includes HC Beck printed attribution. In this edition the Bakerloo and Central lines changed from orange and red to red and brown respectively, the East London line was absorbed into the Metropolitan, the Piccadilly line extended from Rayners Lane to Uxbridge, and the north curve removed from Watford Junction.
