Welcome to September...1986!
40 years ago (I know!) Dan Dare landed on the C64.
A brilliant arcade adventure with a cool comic book vibe, it scored a 9/10 C&VG Hit! and a 94% ZZAP!64 Sizzler.

Armalyte
A blistering shoot-em-up that pushed the C64 to its limits, Armalyte's stunning backgrounds, detailed sprites, cool co-op gameplay & relentless alien waves make it feel like an arcade game on a humble C64. A masterpiece.

Archon/Archon 2
Part chess, part arcade combat, 100% genius. In Archon, Light battles Dark across a shifting board where strategy meets real-time duels, while Adept expands the idea with elemental magic. Innovative & utterly brilliant.

Race through ships rescuing hostages, blasting aliens & battling monstrous bosses, Alien Syndrome's fast, atmospheric co-op gameplay - packed with tension - is fantastic. An excellent conversion of Sega's superb original.

A.P.B.
A.P.B. puts you in the driving seat of rookie cop Officer Bob, racing through a chaotic city to ticket speeders and bust bad guys. An excellent conversion with neat graphics, good tunes and plenty of tongue-in-cheek action.

Avenger
A superb Gauntlet-style adventure with a neat ninja twist, Avenger has you exploring fortresses, collecting keys & bumping off baddies on a quest for vengeance. Atmospheric and addictive, it’s one of Gremlin’s best C64 releases.
I have just three 2026 Commodore 64 calendars left! As in previous years, each month features a classic C64 game released that very same month. Prices are £12.99 (+ shipping) to anywhere in the world. If you'd like one, give me a shout by commenting below or dropping me a DM.

Arc of Yesod
Arc has you exploring planet Ariat for the strange crystal that powers the mysterious Black Monolith. With fab graphics, great music & a huge map to explore, it's an excellent game. Just a shame it's so like its big brother.
Jaz knows a good thing when he sees it! ST version has now sold out - just a few C64 and Amiga ones left.
The very kind @C64Reloaded sent me one of his fabulous and very cool calendars (for the Atari 8-bit computers - which have already sold out). He also has ST, Amiga, and C64 versions if you're interested in buying one. Here's a link:

Arnie
Chris Butler’s Arnold Schwarzenegger-inspired shooter puts a clever isometric spin on the classic run-and-gun formula. Nice graphics and sound, and plenty of action-packed gameplay make this a cracking little Commando clone.

Action Biker
Action Biker puts you in control of Skips-scoffing biker Clumsy Colin zooming around town collecting items & upgrading your machine. An early Hubbard soundtrack & addictive, open-world gameplay provided plenty of £1.99 fun.
