Sincere thanks to @WabKinew & the MB govt team today, urging the Cdn govt to support canola farmers and restore trade with China. Farmers need market access, as heard directly from Warren Ellis, Board Chair of MCGA @CanolaGrowers and Jill Verway, President of @KAP_Manitoba

One of my favourite events every June is the @OntAgHallFame Induction Ceremony where individuals are recognized for outstanding service to Ontario agriculture. Today, during the 45th annual ceremony, five very deserving individuals were inducted in the Hall of Fame. Dr. Edward (Ted) Burnside; Kenneth Forth, Donald Hart; Craig Hunter and Dr. Ken Leslie have each demonstrated unwavering passion, dedication and commitment to Ontario’s agriculture sector over many years. My sincere congratulations to all! #AgricultureMatters #RuralMatters

I'm saddened to learn this. I met Charlie in '95 when I interviewed him for a UGG newsletter. We hit it off politically, so I was his guest at a Conservative dinner in Wpg. We last connected @CANTERRADavid retirement party. The stories Charlie could tell! #cdnag lost a good one! – at Cabri, Saskatchewan
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Charles Mayer — a principled leader, passionate advocate, and steadfast friend to Canadian agriculture.
Charlie served as Minister of Agriculture and held several key roles during his time in public office, championing farmers and fighting for market freedom. He was never in it for praise — he did what he believed was right for our industry.
Many of our members knew him personally — as a neighbour, a friend, and a strong voice for farmers. He leaves behind a legacy of conviction and service that continues to inspire.
Rest in peace, Charlie.

Many wish they had listened to @stephenharper in 2015 and not been misled by the Liberal Party.
Well now is your chance. Don’t make the same mistake you made in 2015. After the lost decade don’t be fooled again.

It's AMAZING how the 1984 election is repeating itself today so accurately. The Conservatives criticized the Liberals for destroying the Canadian economy while the Liberals shift blame on to the USA (Our Allies) instead of themselves for their economic failures! 🤣

I’m bringing a bold, new vision to my role as Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Rural Economic Development. I want to reduce red tape, put a competitive lens on every decision I make, and work hard to diversify our trade.
We need to move quickly to meet the moment and I’m being supported by a fantastic team of public servants at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Here’s the note I sent to them yesterday:

At a crucial time for Canadian farmers, I’m doing everything in my power to ensure a level, competitive playing field.
With the support of the CFIA, we’re working to remove unnecessary red tape, speed up product approvals, and reduce costs for producers, all while maintaining our high standards for human health, animal health, and the environment.
