Every sexually violent predator placed in LA County has landed in the Antelope Valley. All four. And now a FIFTH is on the way. Meanwhile, an SVP supervised by Liberty Healthcare, the same state contractor, cut his GPS and vanished for weeks. No more placements until we get real security answers. latimes.com/california/story…

I recently spoke with @JenniferHorn @am870theanswer to discuss how high gas prices are squeezing California families’ budgets. Nearly 6 in 10 voters are worried about the cost of gas and transportation. While families struggle to afford everyday necessities, Sacramento Democrats' failure to deliver meaningful relief is unacceptable. I will keep fighting to suspend the gas tax, lower the cost of living, and put California families first. #caleg #GasIsTooDamnHigh #Affordability

California just released this year's test scores: Fewer than 4 in 10 students are proficient in math.
More than half aren't proficient in reading and writing. Our kids deserve better. Classrooms should be focused on the basics: reading, writing and math. Not politics. Every child deserves a strong foundation and a real shot at success. Let's get back to what matters. nypost.com/2026/10/15/us-new…

I’ve always said California doesn’t have a revenue problem. We have a wasteful spending problem. Families are struggling to pay for higher groceries, health care, and gas. This is not a government working for the people. It's an administration that puts political insiders and wasteful spending ahead of California families. It’s time to pull the plug on the high-speed fail. #caleg #highspeedfail
EXCLUSIVE: California has spent $618 million on environmental impact reports for its doomed high-speed rail project. We printed out all 130,000 pages and tried to shoot a .50-caliber bullet through them.

The only thing "high-speed" about this project has been the rate at which it burns taxpayer dollars. UNBELIEVABLE

@_TonyBriscoe @latimes Good reporting, but deeply disturbing. Fraud, poor oversight, and waste seem to be recurring themes under this administration. “Californians are working harder than ever just to make ends meet, so learning that millions of dollars have been mismanaged is both frustrating and insulting,” said state Sen. Tony Strickland (R-Huntington Beach). As Vice Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, I have made clear that lawmakers --- not state agencies led by gubernatorial appointees like the California Air Resources Board --- must provide oversight of programs. #caleg #accountability #Transparency @CASenReps

$558,000 A YEAR. That’s the salary on the table for LA County’s CEO. $158,000 more than the President of the United States. More than 7 times what the average LA-area worker earns. Meanwhile, families can’t afford groceries, gas, or housing, and seniors are being priced out of their homes. LA County’s answer? Raise taxes and defend outrageous spending. Public service was never supposed to be a get-rich-quick scheme. LA County doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a PRIORITIES problem. Enough is enough.
The elected County Executive, who will make a salary of roughly $558,000 and not have term limits, will be one of the most powerful and highly paid politicians in the entire state of California. This presents a clear conflict of interest for every member of our @LACountyBOS, which is why I made a pledge not to run for the position. I'm calling on my colleagues to do the same. Many of us have heard about the association between "adverse childhood experiences" — such as exposure to divorce, substance abuse, or incarceration — and a community's health, and it's a painful reality that in many of our rural communities, the "ACE" scores are very high. Last Thursday evening at the Cascade Theatre in Redding I was thrilled to be able to attend a town hall, organized by Shasta Strengthening Families, First 5 Shasta and the Shasta County Office of Education, that took another angle, focusing on the important of positive childhood experiences and what adults can do to foster them. Speakers on the evening's panel were Erin Resner from Redding City Council, Redding Achieve teacher Brian Harris, Shasta County Probation Chief Neal, and Jordan Haberlein from the Shasta County Office of Education, moderated by Danielle Gehrung from the Shasta Day Reporting Center. Consistently being there for children and creating hope, connection and belonging can transform lives. Thanks for this inspiring presentation!
