Also last year, we saw horrifying images of military weapons being used against journalists and people protesting police violence. #AB481 stops short of a full ban, but it gives local govts (and therefore communities) a voice in whether police can procure military equipment.

HISTORIC! Today Governor @GavinNewsom signed #AB1177, the California Public Banking Option Act, which sets into motion the creation of the CalAccount program guaranteeing basic banking services to all Californians without fees or penalties.
