Regardless of how good you were this season, don’t ever underestimate how much better you can get in 8-9 months. With a strategic, precise skill development plan & a strength/conditioning plan that works on the right things, you can come into the new season a much better player!

I’ve spent all July at AAU tournaments and I think a lot of kids have the game confused. Basketball IQ Is definitely at an all time low.
The best player on the floor will make everyone else around them better. It’s not about dropping 30 points or highlight tapes. If you’re talented, that stuff will take care of itself.
High school recruitment is at an all time low right now so it’s more important than ever to know how to play the game the right way. Drive and kicks, advancing the ball, extra passes, communication, reading screen coverages, etc…
For the kids: Ignore outside voices and trust your coaches who are preaching to you to play the right way.

CUTTING & MOVING WITHOUT THE BALL is the most dangerous offensive weapon in basketball! 💯🏃🏽♂️🏀🧠
As I see videos of all these guys working on their game, all they ever do is work on their combo dribble moves. Once the game starts only one or 2 guys actually use the combo dribble moves throughout game.
I wonder if anyone has individual workouts to learn how to:
Cut, angles on slips, screening off ball, different footwork when using a screen depending on coverage, how to get open without a screen,…
I could keep going for a while

Basketball world tells you to point to your chest, to put 3 fingers to the head
Basketball social media tells you that you need to SCORE to get attn, you need to SCORE to bring value
Players
I get it. It’s confusing.
If you give great effort on defense and get crossed up or dunked on because you tried to take a charge as a helpside defender….you are one moment away from being on the wrong end of a VIRAL moment, so it’s EASIER to not really try, to not give that effort bc it’s safer
Real Life > Social Media
Players,
you are more than a BUCKET
YOU can IMPACT the game by
✅being a great teammate. Saying an encouraging word to a teammate who is struggling may lead to them hitting next 2 3s…that’s worth 6 pts
✅ playing great helpside Def…closing off a driving lane 5 times that could have led to 10pts
✅making the extra pass
✅diving on the floor winning the 50/50 ball

If you want to be Average:
1. Let things happen
2. Accept mediocrity on your team
3. Succumb to peer pressure & don't hold others accountable
If you want to be Exceptional:
1. Choose to lead
2. Raise the standards for your team
3. Hold your teammates accountable for these

Being coachable is a competitive edge.
- Take feedback without flinching.
- Apply it without excuse.
- Grow from it without needing praise.
The best don’t avoid coaching; they crave it.
Feedback isn’t an attack.
It’s a gift.
Use it.

Character is Contagious.
The parents who cheer for every kid.
The coaches who lead with heart, not ego.
The players who hustle, help, and handle adversity the right way.
These are the people who shape the culture.
It’s not just about talent or titles.
It’s about character, and it spreads.
Be the reason our teams, schools, and communities get better.

WOW - Listen to this.
Former White House staffer says Kamala Harris’s actions following her loss last night to President Donald Trump was “classless” and reveals she’s a “sore loser.”
Barbara Heineback: "I am so disappointed and really insulted that I’m a Howard alum and that she didn’t have the decency to walk out and say to her, to her university, make a comment to the United States. Things were not looking well for her. It wasn’t completely over."
"I mean, it shows us how classless she actually is, a sore loser. Even though it’s painful for her, for the Democrats, I think America might be relieved at recognizing and realizing they don’t have to put up with this any longer."
Sky News host: "Why do you think she’s failed? What was the biggest mistake of the Democrat campaign?"
Barbara Heineback: "She is so completely insecure that she could not have someone that bright around her to upstage her and outshine her. She made a lot of mistakes by bringing on all of Hollywood and Beyoncé and all of those people. But they always do that. Beyoncé wasn’t very happy."
