When a car struck the Parsons Branch building earlier this year after closing on a Saturday, my coworkers were made to work the following day, a four hour Sunday shift, with a gaping hole in the wall covered by a single sheet of plywood. This seemed to pass without little reassurance of the structural integrity of our building or any consideration of the traumas such an incident would invoke. Staff deserve a seat at the table and a voice to advocate for safety measures when it’s our wellbeing at stake.”
