This #COP28 is historic - and the decisions should match that, says @catabreu_.
ALT In eight years of attending UN climate talks, I could not have imagined seeing the conversations that we have seen here on the need to accelerate the pace and scale of the move away from fossil fuel production and consumption and replace that with renewable energy. What this cop needs to do is to effectively capture the whole historic conversation in a historic decision.

X will begin to have users verify their identity by having them submit a selfie alongside a government issued ID. The process requires users to consent to X storing their information for 30 days and sharing it with AU10TIX, an identity verification company based in Israel.

“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.
A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.

Ahh yes...the "ghost bus." Enraging that not only is Ott transit unreliable but the GPS that is supposed to tell you just how late your bus is either isn't on or is plain wrong. Just having a reliable GPS would make things better.
