Maintaining your sanity is a
whole project, a group one.
Wherever you find yourself, practice care, & rest with folks who are rooting for you to be sober about your needs from our mothering earth.
She is limitless. We are less so.

Are you Earthseed?
Do you believe?
Belief will not save you.
Only actions
Guided and shaped
By belief and knowledge
Will save you.
Belief
Initiates and guides action —
Or it does nothing.
-Octavia Butler [Earthseed book 2]
#Overwhelm in work for #people and #planet won’t be beaten by shocks and shortcuts but with deep, enduring & unstoppable #care.
Take care.
Make care.
Multiply it for your sake & in our communities & the rest looks as lackluster as it really is.
💡Believe it or not, your #no strengthens your yes.
No to overwork is yes to sustained energy, capacity & power.
No to numbness is yes to living.
No to one more task is yes to choice about the next thing.
No to going it alone is yes to getting through to the challenge. ✨
💡 Fighting disinfo in the middle of extreme climate requires care first & again.
✨Care for folks in harms way.
✨Care for folks relocating.
✨Care for folk who stayed b/c they were told climate is a hoax.
✨Care for folk watching helplessly from far away.
#Unstoppablecare

#HurricaneHelene has had a devastating impact on the Southern United States.
Many areas have been decimated and even in areas where power and water has returned, families have been impacted with numerous incalculable expenses. From food going bad, to emergency purchases, health bills and home repairs all of these have a devastating mental health impact and create further anxiety and distress.
To support our folks, BEAM is giving out an emergency stipends to families in need of extra economic support, and will be partnering with other agencies on the ground to resource and support care. Funds will be sent out quickly. Send the link in our bio to folks who are in need

I don’t think the national media is grasping the level of devastation in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, and VA. Whole towns have been washed away. Asheville is cut off from the outside world. 1.3 million people in SC are still without power. It’s really bad.

Can't believe we just sent 8 billion dollars to fund a genocide meanwhile the entire southern portion of the United States is being destroyed by climate change because we've funded no initiatives to prepare for these bigger & bigger disasters

Entire towns are being washed away in North Carolina, countless homes destroyed in Florida, crumbling infrastructure everywhere is unable to handle the climate crisis and the U.S. is sending billions to Israel so that they can start a regional war and murder more civilians.

Horrific Flooding yesterday in Black Mountain and Swannanoa, North Carolina.
Human impacts from Helene in WNC will rival Hurricane Katrina based on the hell I’ve seen the last 48 hours.
