Lol at Traci Park "grateful to be featured" on the very same right-wing tabloid created explicitly by special interests to prop up her regime Such honor!

Surely you didn’t pay for those seats, so what political favors are you trading to be guest?

🤦‍♀️ @AVillaraigosa wants to governor. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ @MayorOfLA has endorsed him.

Q & A time! Question: Will it be fun to skewer this guy when he’s such an easy target? Answer: Oh hell yeah!

Erstwhile CD11 candidate @Newhouse4Senate, now currently one of many running for the 24th Senate, showed up to last night’s @VeniceNC meeting to memorialize longtime Venice resident @masmarc who died 6/27, but instead made it all about himself. Comparisons were easily made.

Not the flurry of "Know Your Rights" workshops by the same LA City Councilmembers that year after year hand a blank check over to the LAPD as a reward for violating said rights 🤦 Shameless

To be clear, and despite whatever you may hear from people like @MayorOfLA and @mhdcd8: - LAPD escorts of ICE is cooperation - LAPD setting up perimeters for ICE is cooperation - LAPD arresting community resistance to ICE is cooperation Fuck LAPD and fuck ICE, same shit
So is the strategy for our elected leaders just to keep claiming that LAPD doesn't cooperate with ICE while everyone can clearly see their LAPD cooperates with ICE?

Hey LA: Every moment ICE spends navigating crowds or abandoning operations due to confrontation is a moment they're not tearing families apart. Every second we delay them is a victory. Keep resisting.

Facts!
Replying to @lacontroller
Venice has a lack of affordable housing. From 2018-2024, only 266 affordable units were approved to be built in Venice or 1% of the City’s total affordable housing approvals. Compare that to 6,810 in Southeast LA.

The City of LA is SPENDING money (during a budget crisis) to STOP Venice Dell - an affordable housing project that the public wants, the City desperately needs, & that 👏 WAS 👏 ALREADY 👏 APPROVED 👏 by the City & the State. (Even a federal Judge spoke up about it 👨‍⚖️)

Gov. Newsom is demanding that every city in CA criminalize homelessness. Knowing we don't have any permanent housing for people to go into. Knowing we only have 39 shelter beds per 100 ppl. Knowing rent is at an all time high and people are spending their entire checks on rent.

Why do we have to keep pretending that elections that draw, at most, hundreds of voters, in a city of 4 MILLION, should have any sort of legitimate authority? Abolish Neighborhood Councils and expand the number of City Councils!
“Many neighborhood council members say this year’s drop is due to in-person voting being cut from the election administration budget, leaving only a vote-by-mail option that they say adds confusion for voters.” laist.com/news/politics/neig…

Worth noting….
The motion by LA City Councilmembers Tim McOsker and Bob Blumenfield to investigate the LAPD headshots release expired without any action. @stoplapdspying @bencamach0

The City would be in a much better financial position if @MayorOfLA had heeded @lacontroller's warning for the last two years. Instead the City is broke and facing thousands of layoffs
We've been talking about the City's finances since we started nearly two years ago including projecting conservative revenue estimates and increased costs. We'll be working with the Mayor and City Council to see what we can do to address this. We can't afford not to anymore.

A sad loss for a beloved member of the famed, a now former, Venice Beach Freakshow. And a gentle reminder of Venice’s rapid gentrification. Forever fuck @Snapchat

$1 billion budget shortfall? Ohh hmmm interesting… wondering where that money went? Oh @MayorOfLA gave LAPD a $1 billion raise???
Next year's budget gap is apparently now "nearly $1 billion," the same budget official is now saying. This slide was part of a City Council presentation CAO Matt Szabo gave today. Szabo says layoffs are "nearly inevitable," that could be in the thousands of people losing jobs

We’re all fucked. Except for probably the police. Whaddya bet they’ll still get a budget increase as usual?
“We are not looking at dozens or even hundreds of layoffs, but thousands.”
