Agreed. SEC teams beat each other, which makes them all really good. When the B10 teams beat each other, it’s because they’re all bad.
If you can’t see that the SEC is the deepest league in CFB, you’re either just hating, or genuinely don’t understand football.

A LOT of Jason Beck’s game plan was carbon copied from Ohio State.
Wait until you find out OSU gave them the same zero WR looks in short yardage and they did the exact same there too. Jason Beck shouldn’t have been surprised by this.

Game plan is probably the wrong word. He stole Ohio State’s exact formations, motions and play and ran them a bunch. Seems like he didn’t understand the why on some stuff that I wish he copied.

Watching Jason Beck’s gameplan vs Indiana after watching Arthur Smith’s gameplan was absolutely jarring. I had some questions about why OSU did some certain things (toss to run OZ, almost zero gap scheme) and Jason Beck filled in all those puzzle pieces for me… and then didn’t adjust for 3.5Q afterwards.

“Literally God” is certainly hyperbole but yes a vast majority of the plays those guys make are just completely unblocked because Bryant Haines is the best in the sport.
Replying to @GucciGrimace
If this group is "mediocre at best" then Bryant Haines has to literally be God with the way he has them playing

The first read (by where he looked) is fade-out to the field. Out route to JJ should have been thrown already. Simple concept that every HS in America runs. Seeing a lot of people defending this because they want Carr to start. Don’t need to do that.
No shade just pointing out the obvious that Tommy Carr is not ready because we have incompetent coaches. Carr missed 3 WR wide open on this play in the most pivotal point of the game.

The worst call in history just got worse. How did Beck and the Offensive coaches not pick this up? The goal-line play was NEVER going to work. 4th and Inches... the Left DE is spying Bryce the entire play. The DE literally reaches out and touches Bryce at the end of play. 2min later on the same drive. 3rd and Goal and the DE is spying Carr all day and blows up the play.

Well… technically the slant window player did vacate 😂😂😂 a little bit too elementary of a thought process here by Carr
Mistakes are inherent when playing freshman. It’s 3rd & 7 after that terrible 2nd down play call. I don’t know how Tommy concluded that JJ was the right throw when Marsh is 1 on 1 with the safety with inside leverage. But…when you never let the QB attempt the deep ball, they’re bound to not see it.

No, I don’t believe Beck told Carr to throw it there regardless. I believe he called slant-flat and Carr read the player in conflict only, instead of seeing the entire defense.

Side note: Jalen Hoffman is getting better. Him and Hansen are the clear top 2. Not particularly sure why anybody else gets put into the ball game.
I just watched Michigan’s offensive film vs Indiana. Can’t believe I did this for free, I need a beer. The video is linked below. These were my takeaways: 1. Bryant Haines is the best defensive coordinator in the history of the sport... EVER! He dominated Michigan with a mediocre at best DL. None of those guys start at other contending schools, and for the most part none of those guys are winning true 1v1s with OL, but they execute twist in the run and pass game at a high level, and Bryant Haines guesses right on those calls seemingly...ALWAYS?! 2. Jason Beck did SOME good stuff and made SOME good adjustments that I point out, but they were few and far between, but they all felt like one-offs that couldn't be done twice. He made a few egregious calls, (the last play of the game running switch verts is worse than boot on the goal line!!!) but for the most part... Haines is just better at his job, and it ain't close. Levels. 3. Since coming back from injury, Manuel Beigel has been unplayable. He's clueless where to go on combos and has abysmal technique on down blocks. I also point out a couple of times where the rhino being no threat hurts Michigan's pass concepts. 4. Outside zone is a good play for Michigan because they are good at it.... it created both RB explosives vs PSU... but you need to run it out of different looks. Michigan tried to repeatedly run it how OSU did against them well last week... they clearly made adjustments and we didn't care and just kept calling it. 5. Outside of Manuel Beigel, Oline runs duo very well and I thought it was the best play to run vs Indiana's twisting. They got away from it for some reason. Counter is HORRIBLE vs those twists. I now understand why OSU didn't run any in that tape. 6. Per usual, the "bad jet sweep" was just poor blocking and a missed assignment on the perimeter. Debatable read by Tommy Carr. At the same time - Michigan clearly sucks at these plays AND they're getting easily schemed up because the personnel and formations are so predictable. Probably cut that out. 7. Any time Indiana got into man, Michigan didn't get open. If I were them, I would have stayed in it all day. Marsh becomes really the only threat outside of well-designed 1-read plays. 8. Tommy Carr was majorly gun shy after the interception. A lot of times I thought the ball should have been out and it just wasn't. He didn't run boot well, seemingly afraid to throw the first read. I was harsh on Tommy in this video, but a lot of this stuff is so easily fixable, and he was facing the literal best in the sport. He made winning plays in the end and gave Michigan a chance. I'd rock with him moving forward. Watch the video here ⬇️⬇️⬇️ patreon.com/GoBlueChuck/post…

Tweener read for Tommy Carr. I’m fine with either and coach guys to give it if they can, so I get the give. Hogan Hansen, we are reading the guy inside of you. Please block the guy outside of you. We’ve messed this up too much. Just stop running it instead of being stubborn.
I don’t know why they can’t run a jet sweep. I don’t know why they can’t block a jet sweep. Guarnera can’t reach the 2tec. Owen doesn’t know who to block. And as soon as the RG & RT pull, the DE and OLB are there to blow up the play. IU knew what play was before the ball was snapped.

My main takeaway after watching the film of Michigan vs Indiana was this: Expecting Jason Beck to look halfway competent against Bryant Haines is like expecting Tommy Carr to outduel Josh Allen. Best in the world vs a complete noob. Why doesn’t Michigan have one of the best?

I don’t understand why Michigan started the “safe option” with better “deep ball placement” and then made him throw the ball 32x and none were straight go balls The recipe is so clear to me, for either QB. Don’t turn the ball over. Take low risk, high reward shots. Jason Beck calls plays like he has a bad defense and trusts his QB with his life.

Wide zone has been Michigans most explosive run play this year. Nate Efobi and Marky Walbridge just aren’t Michigan caliber starting offensive lineman presently. Also Indiana is the best run-game twisting team I’ve ever seen.

I see a lot of people saying this, it’s just not realistic. Michigan doesn’t have an athletic director to hire a coach, and they don’t have a president to hire an athletic director.
