Two measures of QB play this season: play by play efficiency (ESPN QBR) and a film based metric (PFF Grade). These are FBS QBs with 200+ plays & an eligible QBR. What metric should you use? Thats up to you big dawg

If you've felt like the gap between the top college football teams and other good teams has felt smaller this season, you're correct based off of opponent-adjusted net EPA/play Here is the gap between the #1 team in net EPA/play and the #15 team by season (all through 7 weeks): •2019: +0.23 •2021: +0.17 •2022: +0.17 •2023: +0.19 •2024: +0.16 •2025: +0.21 •2026: +0.10(!)

In their memo to staff, EA confirmed that an open-world experience is coming to their American Football games. It's currently under the codename "Project Gridiron" and is described as a "social-first open-world experience"

NEW: Kentucky head coach Will Stein on the 24-team College Football Playoff: "Everybody says the (regular season) games aren't going to matter. Really? I think that's a really lame take, to be honest. As far as I know every game in College Football is going to matter." He later added: "You telling me you wouldn't want a Playoff game at Kroger Field? I think those takes are bad." (via @KSRonX)
College Football Playoff expansion injects hope into College Football’s middle class🙏 "It changes the outlook for a lot of Big Ten teams not in the category of Ohio State and Indiana right now," @Sean_Callahan says as leading voices from fan bases nationwide weigh in. Colandrea has been more consistent down to down but Daniels has been more explosive and more efficient as a whole, & has been more aggressive and playing in worse situations before the snap. Offense is 17th in adjusted EPA/Play. The only bright spot is Mike can coach an offense
There’s a legit case out of the 3 QBs we targeted out of Anthony Colandrea, Lagway & Ashton Daniels in the offseason, Ashton has been the better QB despite his limitations.

Successful Play Rate Differential vs. Explosive Play Rate Differential, P4 vs FBS through Week 7... Once again, ND & BYU are neck-and-neck... Ole Miss kinda meh?... And we need a name for the cluster of Lou/OK State/Kansas that are just the goofy dragon meme.

"I wouldn’t even watch BYU-ND last night" If you can't get up (or stay up technically) for a top 10 matchup you just don't love the sport
With a 24-team playoff, the Georgia, Alabama, & Notre Dame losses mean NOTHING. I wouldn’t even watch BYU-ND last night. The outcome wouldn’t matter. People only watch college basketball in March. That’s exactly what we’re turning college football into. December Madness on the way!

Remember when people wanted Jeanty to win the Heisman so badly they tried the worst bad faith campaign ever of gaslighting people into believing Hunter was just a “mid” player at both of his positions

Some of that good ole fashion, homestyle raw expected points added per play on both offense and defense. The heck is going on with the South Alabama defense

The standard is making a bowl game now. Its not competing for titles. If thats what the admin wants to commit to, you/I as a fan should match that energy in commitment to the team

Is St Clair just not it?
Genuinely shocked Ohio State has a true freshman backing up Julian Sayin. For a program that does nearly everything right, seems like a glaring oversight.

There is no such thing as "taking the points" they are never free. Least of all in college football with college kickers and college holders and college snappers
I realize Will Stein has built a brand around having big onions but I really don’t get this epidemic of coaches not taking the points when it makes all the sense in the world to do so.
