24 years ago today, Ye survived a near-death experience when he crashed his car, falling asleep at the wheel…
Ye shattered his jaw and required emergency surgery. While having his mouth wired shut, he recorded his debut single, “Through the Wire.”
“But I’m a champion, so I turned tragedy into triump.” Rest is history.

24 years ago today, Ye survived a near-fatal car crash that would change music history forever.
After falling asleep at the wheel on his way home from the studio, Ye shattered his jaw and had it wired shut.
Just weeks later, he recorded “Through the Wire” with his jaw still wired shut.
A near-death experience turned into one of the most iconic songs of his career. 🐐
