I’m excited to share that our method combining ideas from the worlds of stats and ML to model covariance in designed experiments is published with @SpringerNature in JABES. Thanks @alison_m_kelly, @ynazarathy, @AriVerbyla and team! Read here (open access) doi.org/10.1007/s13253-023-0…
An amazing 2 weeks of upskilling Ethiopian breeders and pathologists in statistical methods have come to an end - where did the time go? One thing is for sure - it has been an incredibly rewarding and inspiring experience! Thanks to all involved and all that made it happen!
Fantastic to be back in Ethiopia, continuing the upskilling of @InstituteEiar plant breeders in statistical methods. Incredibly rewarding to be able to work with a motivated and engaged group of researchers!
And so it begins… Day 1 of our course Linear mixed models for plant breeding kicked off today for @InstituteEiar supported by @GatesAfrica through the MERCI project. We are looking forward to 6 days of learning with a great group of participants. @CForknall @SorgGuy @EmmaOmics

SAGI-North team having fun with their presentations at the DAF Qld Biometry workshop this week. Stay tuned for publications to follow from this great work!
This #GRDC investment epitomises collaboration between researchers & statisticians to achieve meaningful outcomes for industry. Huge shout out to the project leadership team Rob Loughman, @alison_m_kelly, @s_simpfendorfer, @Grant_Hollaway, Greg Platz, @lisleQLD & @ManishaMshankar
Some ground breaking research has resulted in a breakthrough for growers and agronomists wanting to measure the potential impact of disease on yield.
On this podcast we look at the results of that research and also how it all came about...

Enjoyable evening tuning in to see our SAGI-North team members, @alison_m_kelly and @Joanne67694417, presenting their research on stats methods for high throughput phenomics data in agriculture during IBC2020 @IBSstats
Great to see a SAGI-North biometrician getting out of the office and into the field @MichaelMumford9
Involving statisticians in experimental design and data collection produces better analyses and value for $$. Thanks Michael Mumford from SAGI Qld @DAFQld for coming to the field and getting “dirty” in the data collection for @QAAFI ‘s winter sown #sorghum thanks to @GRDCNorth
