Electric-assist bikes get more people on bikes and that is a goal for the League. But proposing standards will help set the direction quicker for everyone. -@BillNesper
LAB doesn’t have a policy on ebikes, yet. Overwhelmingly, members feel pedal-assist bikes are bikes, but as they move to less bike-like attributes, they aren’t. LAB needs to set a standard and communicate that. - @BillNesper
State and local advocacy groups need your support, as does the League of American Bicyclists. Give of your time and treasures to help them help us! - @BillNesper
The League has focused a lot on policy, but it’s really great to connect with the people who are riding. - @billnesper
Bicycle Friendly Communites are where people want to live, work, and visit. As you move up the award levels, health outcomes improves for residents. - @BillNesper
There are 450 Bicycle Friendly Communities in all 50 states. 1 in 4 Americans lives in a BFC at bronze or above level. -@BillNesper
Bikeleague.org is a wealth of great and useful information. Lots of state ranking information. Indiana can do better (#38), but we like a challenge and good things are happening! - @BillNesper
We have to lead with our love for community and people. Keep riding and keep inviting others in. Cyclists aren’t special interest. We want things that are shared goals for the public good. - @BillNesper
