Went to write about @IndStBasketball coach Josh Schertz’s offense. Asked him about playing tennis as a child. He ended up telling me a story even his best friends in the sport do not know. Honored to tell it. theathletic.com/5238989/2024…

Was amazed last year that level change didn’t bother him. Played just like he did in high school. Just getting started but looks like more of the same so far in the NBA.
Keaton Wagler 15 PTS (4-8 FG, 3-6 3P, 4-4 FT), 5 AST, 5 REB, 2 STL, +14 vs. Kings Nice debut game for the Clippers rookie

Trey Kaufman-Renn at center for KU will be reminiscent of KJ Adams in 22-23. Lots of short rolls. Added bonus is he’s elite as a post-up player too. Defensively, the ceiling isn’t as high with him at center. I anticipate he’ll play some PF too.

Spent the last two days behind the scenes with @IlliniMBB. Cannot wait to tell the story of what the Illini are up to and what led to 105 points in exhibition win at Cincinnati.

Illini are flying up and down the floor and setting no ball screens, total opposite of how they played last year. Quentin Coleman already has three assists. Beautiful ball movement. Fun to watch.

I’m at Illinois-Cincinnati exhibition today and MJ Collins is starting for Bearcats.

This is a big one (I think he’s an All America level player) and one that should make teams with international guys on the fringe very happy to see.
Quinn Ellis is eligible, per source. #sjubb

Notable, especially as the first 5-in-5 case to be heard in appellate court. Players in this lawsuit -- like Javon Bennett (Gonzaga), Keyshawn Hall (St. John's) and MJ Collins (Cincy) -- were already ineligible because their initial injunction had been stayed, and still are.
BREAKING: In the Ohio 5-in-5 eligibility case, the First District Court of Appeals has reversed the judgment of the trial court's preliminary injunction. The players in the Ohio case remain ineligible. @ReboundRundown

Lot of people have been asking about the academic side of the late roster addition(s) by Bill Self. Learned today that KU has 8-week courses and those don't start for another week or so. That's what Tre White (and possibly Melvin Council???) would enroll in and that's when they would become an official part of the #KUbball roster. Once your school is paid for or you receive an NIL payment, you're on the roster for the duration of the year, even if you decide to leave later.
