Interesting: @limebike has banned 1,000 users in D.C. over the last month for violating rules on the use of its e-scooters and bikes, including underage users, dangerous riding, and more. This comes amidst concerns over improper use and rule-breaking on the bikes and scooters.

The Mayor's Office has denied @washingtonsun's appeal for DDOT data showing how many times AVs have crashed while testing here.
The good news is that @Waymo gave us the data D.C. won't, and @CMCharlesAllen said his bill would require public reporting.

🚲 🛴 It's time to make e-scooters and e-bikes safer for everyone in DC.
And change is coming. DDOT is in the process of re-bidding the contract that companies like Lime and VEO operate under, and with it, the chance to change the rules around safety.

I’ve spoken with MPD’s Cmdr Hall as well as head of ABCA. We’ve seen repeated issues outside Cafe 8, including gunshots. The latest left 2 people shot. MPD & ABCA are investigating and I believe an emergency closure should take place until this business changes how they operate.
