So lucky to learn alongside these two educators who also happen to be fierce advocates for MLLs.
This past weekend @Joelle_EAL and I co-presented at #ACAMISELL in Beijing about our collaborative approach to #coassessing #MLLs at @AISGZ. Amazing weekend full of learning left us feeling refreshed, connected, and inspired! #EAL

Young poets make connections in poetry using #Translanguaging. What’s the same about the sky(天 )and a ceiling (天花板 )in Chinese? 天 of course! #aisgz

Wisdom doesn’t come from experience. It comes from reflecting on experience.
Between ages 25 and 75, the correlation between age and wisdom is zero.
Gaining insight and perspective is not about the number of years you've lived. It's about the number of lessons you've learned.

Why not use live video and create a texture hunt where students can search for textures in their world? Here’s how 👇 @AppleEDU @Usingtechbetter please retweet or tag people if you think teachers might benefit! Great little task to get kids exploring, moving and engaging!

A new notebook and a fancy pen is giving my little, younger self LIFE.
A4: #Notetaking #annotating can be a tough sell for Ss, so using #sketchnoting strategies as well as providing learners w personalized notebooks & pretty pens, high-quality markers, mentor sketchnotes (@sylviaduckworth @chrisgadbury) etc; is my jam!

A3 if imagination is asking “what if” then play through provocation is so powerful. Offer a material - clay or wire and invite kids to wonder. Also, story workshop from @OpalSchool inspires my “what if” #PubPDAsia
A2 profesh PD - to learn in community with the incomparable Dr. Gini Rojas #MLL #pubpdasia
A2 Personal PD - course for belaying multi-pitch climbs in the alps #pubpdasia
A1 if my teachers had read, “what if all the kids are white” and worked to nurture a social justice lens in my 5th grade mind AND that building a reading identity offers you a life long teacher #pubpdasia
Shine together @vikabbott & Ms. Cindy and gratitude to @Joelle_EAL for kicking off our #coaching cycle #MultilingualLearners
I got to observe an amazing example of co-teaching today! Who knew learning about and searching for text features could be so fun! Thanks for letting me stop by G1 @CMiolee! @AISGZ #peercoaching

Yesterday, teachers presented about 6 different #translanguaging articles to their colleagues and responded through #Padlet. Such rich conversations!
Super honoured to read articles by @OrtegaYecid, @HajdunHomeroom, @drlindseymoses @LaDraCastro, @AndyXuesong to name a few!

Love this cross-grade connection
Super successful first session with our 5th grade buddy class! 1st and 5th grade Ss created Identity Connection Webs by using colors to show connections they had to each other. The result? Beautiful art and new friendships 🤩#aisgz @ColinDonelle
