South Delhi folks, have you heard the story of Sar Kata Bhoot of Srinivas Puri flyover near Lajpat Nagar?
In late 60s or early 70s, Taxi drivers and Auto Rickshaw drivers were left stunned when the passenger just vanished in thin air on the flyover, leaving behind the money on the seat. Some said they saw a headless man walking on the flyover, who was killed on the railway tracks below the bridge. The fear was such that after dark people began to avoid that stretch of ring road altogether.

We pay hundreds crores for providing security to protect politicians .
We waste thousands of crores in giving out doles not being sure where it goes.
Babus and netas waste huge amounts on their junkets under the garb of study tours.
However we fail do not recognise and value the talent and brain we have in our country .
This has been the case with every government. What is 27 lacs in todayโs terms for such a high position?
If Prasar Bharati can spend โน15 crore a year on a DD News show featuring a star anchor, while the ISRO Chairmanโs basic pay is about โน27 lakh a year, shouldnโt we rethink our priorities? If India wants to conquer space and attract our finest scientific minds, our rewards must match our ambitions.
