Congratulations, Tina!
It’s official! My application for a F31 Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award was selected for funding! I was awarded 3 years of funding to study the role of c-Kit in the homeostasis of sweet-sensing taste cells. Thanks to @Barlow_Lab for all the support!

Thanks @CSD_CUAMC @nudibranchfan and @K_Alemany for putting together such a great program retreat in the beautiful mountains. Great talks, ideas, and conversations. We all benefit from these interactions. I love that science is really a team sport.

@c_fees, @DrMicrotubule, @jayneaiken_ are all in academia post-docs at Brandeis, MIT, and UPenn respectively. Colby and Jayne (CSD alums) are still working on the cytoskeleton while Cassi (Molbio alum) is now working on neural circuits!

Day 5: Where we’re going! Students of the Moore lab have a wide range of interests following their PhD from academia to industry. If you don’t believe us here are some Moore lab alums and where they are in their journey!

Not only is budding yeast important for Moore lab experiments, it has also been a very usual fungus for humans for many millennia. You can thank this yeast for breadmaking or for fermenting drinks like beer and wine!

@LwoodCUAnschutz uses taxol, a chemotherapeutic drug, to study changes to microtubule structures in various cancer cell lines. Fun Fact! Taxol is derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree, but you won’t find Lisa out scavenging, she’ll be with Izzy paddleboarding!

There's always microscopy work in the Moore lab! When she's not looking at microtubules in vivo, here's Katie Hoff analyzing tag free purified tubulin with interference reflection microscopy!

@xyzeke, @K_Alemany, and Charles teamed up to purify Cin8.  They may not enjoy optimizing protein biochemistry but think of all the fun in vitro experiments they will be able to do!

Joining the lab for the summer through the Developing Scholars program are two undergraduate students Blossom and Charles who are currently being mentored by Linnea and Zeke! If you have any questions for the lab let us know!

Moore lab members range a variety of programs too! @lwethekam & Katie Hoff are in the Molecular Biology program while you can find @LwoodCUAnschutz in the Cancer program! They work on anything from tubulin isotype regulation to neuropathies! More information: @CUCancerBio @molbcu

Meet fellow CSD members Zeke and Katie! @xyzeke is a rising 5th year while @K_Alemany is a rising 3rd year PhD student. They both work on motors, microtubule associated proteins, and their role in mitotic spindle assembly.
