She said when earning her CUDE (Certified Credit Union Development Educator) designation, it deepened her understanding of why this industry is so unique in how credit unions show up for their communities. Her favorite part of working with CU1 is hearing a story about how we helped a member get through a tough spot or reach a goal they did not think was possible.

September Employee Spotlight! Branch and Community Engagement Manager, Barb Shoaf! Barb is a passionate and dedicated advocate for her community of Rantoul. She is actively involved with several organizations such as the Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy, and Exceed Church. Through her involvement, she helps those in her community learn more about financial literacy and how to navigate financial decisions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. We are lucky to have Barb representing CU1!

August recap! August = back to school season. Our team spent most of the month focusing on providing financial literacy seminars to students and adults. We are proud of our team for conintuing to show up and provide that crucial knowledge in a relatable and engageing manner!
