With six presentations from @waynestatephys, #BPS2023 concluded with an excellent poster presentation from Shahnaz. Stimulating conversation and new collaborations for everyone!
Sonali's development of a four-color fluorescence cross-correlation method that uses only one laser and one camera is not available on the BioRxiv! Good job, Sonali!

Want to fluorescently detect acyl-CoAs or ABHD5 ligands in real-time with subcellular localization? Our new publication has the tool for you.
"A FRET sensor for the real-time detection of long
chain acyl-CoAs and synthetic ABHD5 ligands"

Congratulations to Dr. Ramesh Tripathi on an excellent PhD defense today!!
@PM_Hoffmann
Great job with the New and Notable, Sonali!
It was our pleasure to highlight the excellent paper, "GM1 asymmetry in the membrane stabilizes pores" by the @DimovaLab

We're happy to provide a physics and imaging expertise to understand of the formation of cilia in sperm with Zhibing Zhang and Paul Stemmer over the next five years!

Replying to @MikeLangePhD
Mostly it comes down to preparing the coverslip surface with surfactant and plasma cleaning. Nothing fancy. The Tag is applied first and then buffer is added. The droplet caps are stuck well enough for long term imaging and buffer exchange. More details to be published soon!
And making friends who also play too hard, but still make science a priority, with @LaurenUchiyama
Happy to be welcomed into this great community of lipid droplet researchers at #LDSRC22. A broken leg won't slow us down.
Congratulations, Munirah, on your master's degree!
@waynestatephys
Thanks, WSU for the Career Development Chair! To have a year to focus on research will be momentous!
Sonali did a great job presenting at #bps2022 for the @BiophysicalSoc in San Francisco. She is will additionally be representing @waynestatephys, @WayneStateCLAS, and @WSUResearch at the graduate student competition shortly. Way to go, Sonali!

May I invite you to a fun thread about a delightful quirk of relativity theory? Starting with a simple fact about rotations, I’ll hope to give you some intuition about something that’s considered wildly counterintuitive: velocity addition. Intrigued? Buckle up!
It was great working with this team to see how membrane curvature and protein asymmetry couple to yield interesting translational and rotational diffusion.
