They're not in Europe to do the jobs Europeans won't do. They're in Europe to collect welfare and raise horrible psychotic children who will laugh and film a firefighter literally burning as he tries to stop them from destroying his city. Civilisational suicide.

Some thoughts on the prospects for a settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine. Mainstream thinking about the conflict largely revolves around when the war might end, how to pressure Russia into a ceasefire, and what a possible settlement could look like. We often hear that if the current attempt to advance the peace process fails, another window of opportunity may open in, say, six months. The problem is that we have been hearing this mantra about the "next six months" for almost five years now. My growing conviction is that there will be no lasting settlement of the conflict. A ceasefire may be possible, but it is likely to be partial, fragile and tactical, doing little to bring about sustainable peace. Instead, we should prepare for a prolonged period of deterioration and escalation across multiple fronts. This is not simply about the continuation of the war. It is about a broader, pervasive process of destabilisation, at least over the medium term. Ukraine is facing what could be its worst winter yet, amid mounting domestic pressures. I see little that could fundamentally change this trajectory. Even an unlikely settlement could — and probably would — accelerate domestic political conflicts and fuel instability. A ceasefire would bring elections closer, introducing another potential source of destabilisation. And I struggle to imagine any scenario in which any Ukrainian leadership would agree to Putin's terms for ending the conflict. Whatever agreement might eventually be signed, if one is signed at all, would risk remaining largely unimplemented, as happened with the Minsk agreements. Russia will not emerge stronger either. Financial and budgetary pressures, a struggling economy, increasingly frustrated elites, an unsettled society and unresolved geopolitical tensions — which would not disappear with a ceasefire or settlement and could even intensify — are likely to drive further domestic repression, erode Putin's authority and push elites to focus increasingly on their own survival, whatever the cost. The war has been steadily exhausting the Russian economy, and this process will continue. And this, too, may lead to less predictable and more dangerous geopolitical behaviour. Europe faces potentially pivotal elections in France. It is likely to become more divided, more fragile in its ability to provide financial and military support to Ukraine, and less coherent in its approach. Individual European states are already taking more initiative and gaining greater agency to act independently of Brussels institutions. Meanwhile, existing trends and persistent structural factors point towards an intensifying confrontation with Russia, growing sub-threshold threats, and an increasingly visible and tangible pattern of incidents and hybrid attacks. What appears to be a red line today may become the new normal tomorrow. And these red lines are shifting not only on the Russian side, but in Europe as well. The broader picture is that we have entered a protracted period of destabilisation, erosion of international rules and weakening of international institutions. As those institutions lose their ability to coordinate responses, individual countries are increasingly compelled to act on their own. But this growing fragmentation and lack of coordination will, in turn, further accelerate the deterioration. Any settlement in Ukraine risks being extremely fragile, while confrontation between Russia and Europe is likely to intensify regardless of developments on the Ukrainian track. This new reality may be with us for years, potentially until the accumulated escalation across multiple fronts reaches a peak that finally — and hopefully — forces all sides to sit down and engage in genuine dialogue. Until then, I believe we should prepare for the worst.

🇷🇺 PUTIN MAY HAVE BUILT A REGIME THAT CANNOT SURVIVE HIM Historian Sarah Paine warns that Russia could face a dangerous struggle for power when Vladimir Putin dies, with no clear successor and no reliable mechanism for a democratic transition. “Nobody in his network knows who takes over,” she argues. Paine believes the uncertainty could trigger a fierce contest among competing elites, potentially escalating into wider internal conflict. She even raises the possibility of civil war, although she acknowledges that any prediction about Russia’s recovery would be speculative. Her assessment of Putin’s personal predicament is equally stark. She argues that authoritarian leaders who concentrate power around themselves can eventually become prisoners of their own systems. Leaving office may expose them to retaliation from the very people who once depended on their protection. In Paine’s interpretation, that helps explain why Putin might continue escalating rather than seek a political exit. The deeper problem is that Russia’s political stability has become so closely tied to one individual that his departure could create a succession crisis with consequences far beyond the Kremlin. Putin has spent decades consolidating power. Paine’s warning is that he may have left Russia dangerously unprepared for what comes afterward.

The ultimate betrayal of eastern Ukraine is now fully out in the open as prominent Russian-backed collaborator Ischenko admitted that Russia will never rebuild the destroyed heavy industry and infrastructure of Donbas. For years, these treacherous puppets promised local coal miners and workers immense prosperity under Putin's rule while chanting about the imminent collapse of Ukraine. Today, the harsh reality has set in: after devastating the entire region, turning flourishing industrial cities into ruins, and forcefully mobilizing local men into meat-waves, the Kremlin has simply abandoned the civilian population to freeze and rot. This shameless admission proves that the true purpose of the "Russian World" was never to build, protect, or liberate- it was solely to plunder, murder, and leave a once-thriving industrial heartland completely desolate. #DonbasReality #KremlinLies #RussianOccupation

Russian propagandist Solovyev calls for a massive escalation against Ukraine, Europe and the United Kingdom "that produce weapons used to strike our peaceful cities." "We need to escalate - and do so forcefully. We need to take out the enemy. We need to destroy factories in Europe and the United Kingdom that produce weapons used to strike our peaceful cities. We need to destroy the transport carrying these weapons, shoot down aircraft, sink ships."

🇺🇸🇺🇦 MUSK AND TRUMP’S SATELLITE POWER PLAY IS BACKFIRING WORLDWIDE Elon Musk and Donald Trump wanted to demonstrate just how much power Washington and its technology giants hold over Ukraine’s communications. Instead, they have given governments around the world another reason to build satellite networks that neither the White House nor a single billionaire can switch off. The temporary Starshield shutdown and pressure on Ukraine have brought a much bigger issue into focus: technological sovereignty. And the response is taking shape across several countries. 🇨🇦 CANADA: Ottawa has signed a CAD 2.3 billion agreement with Telesat to expand its Lightspeed satellite constellation, incorporating secure military communications. Canadian manufacturer MDA Space is also receiving additional satellite orders. 🇫🇮 FINLAND: ICEYE and Nokia are working together on sovereign satellite communications infrastructure, allowing European governments to own and control their networks, including encryption, rather than depend entirely on foreign providers. 🇪🇺 EUROPEAN UNION: Brussels is expanding its IRIS² satellite network, with plans for 348 satellites and an additional €4 billion in funding. Airbus and Thales Alenia Space are involved in manufacturing and secure government communications systems. 🇰🇷 SOUTH KOREA: The domestically developed Nuri rocket has deployed 14 payloads, including reconnaissance and military satellites, strengthening Seoul’s independent space capabilities. 🇯🇵 JAPAN: Tokyo is investing approximately $1 billion in direct-to-device satellite communications, designed to keep ordinary smartphones connected during disasters and military emergencies. 🇩🇪 GERMANY: Isar Aerospace’s Spectrum rocket has reached orbit, marking another step toward independent European access to space. And perhaps the most important developments concern Ukraine itself. 🇺🇦 UKRAINE: The UASAT project has completed its registration with the International Telecommunication Union. Preparations for the UASAT-NANO test satellite are underway, laying the groundwork for a Ukrainian-controlled constellation. 🇨🇿 CZECH REPUBLIC: Prague and Kyiv are advancing cooperation on Suziria, a proposed optical reconnaissance satellite constellation. Ukraine is also expected to receive backup communications capacity through Europe’s GOVSATCOM system. These projects are at different stages, and not all are direct replacements for Starlink. Some provide broadband, others military communications, reconnaissance or independent launch capabilities. But they point in the same direction. Governments increasingly recognize that critical communications cannot depend on the political decisions of another country or the personal discretion of a private technology executive. Musk and Trump wanted to demonstrate who controls the switch. They may have helped convince much of the world that nobody should have that much control in the first place.

Europe Is Being Carved Up While Its Leaders Are Still Deciding Who Should Speak. I have a question for Europe’s leaders. Where were you this week? Where was the European leader standing before the cameras, declaring that Europe’s borders, security and future are not bargaining chips for Washington and Moscow? Who told Donald Trump, publicly and unequivocally, that his administration has chosen the wrong side of history? Who announced that Europe would consider sanctions against American companies profiting from Russian energy while Ukrainian civilians are being killed? And who delivered the simplest ultimatum of all: Europe must have a seat at the negotiating table, or European sanctions against Russia will remain in place. No American president gets to negotiate them away. Yes, some European leaders have spoken. Kaja Kallas, Giorgia Meloni and several foreign ministers have criticised Trump’s Russian diesel deal. Alexander Stubb and Jonas Gahr Støre even called Putin on October 27. But here is the extraordinary part: they explicitly stated that they were not speaking for Europe. And that brings me to something almost too absurd to believe. European leaders have been discussing who should represent Europe in negotiations with Russia since at least May. Five months later, with November practically upon us, they still haven’t agreed on a representative with a clear mandate. Five fucking months. We are talking about the future borders and security of our own continent, not choosing a new chairman for the Brussels gardening committee. Meanwhile, Trump is easing sanctions on Russian diesel. Washington and Moscow are exploring further commercial opportunities. And the Kremlin is discussing the possibility of additional American sanctions relief. Russia invades European territory. America negotiates commercial arrangements with the aggressor. And Europe continues discussing who should attend the discussions. You could hardly invent a more humiliating demonstration of geopolitical paralysis. And the stakes go far beyond Ukraine. We are watching the possible emergence of a new world order in which Washington, Moscow and Beijing treat Europe as a collection of territories, markets and spheres of influence to be divided between them. Russia wants territorial control. China wants economic and strategic leverage. Trump’s Washington increasingly appears willing to treat European security as another transactional opportunity. Their interests are not identical, but their willingness to pursue them at Europe’s expense should terrify every European government. I am not suggesting Europe should stop negotiating. Quite the opposite. Europe should be leading negotiations over European security, defining the conditions, controlling its sanctions policy and making unmistakably clear that Ukraine’s sovereignty is non-negotiable without Ukraine’s consent. And if Washington chooses to help finance Putin’s war economy, Europe should be prepared to examine economic consequences for those involved, regardless of whether they are Russian or American. Enough carefully worded expressions of concern. Enough summits about future summits. Enough waiting for Washington to rediscover its principles. Europe has the economic power, the institutions and the democratic legitimacy to defend its own interests. What it desperately lacks is a common political voice willing to use that power. History will not remember how many meetings European leaders attended. It will remember whether they stood up while the future of their continent was being negotiated. And right now, the silence from Europe’s collective leadership is becoming almost as alarming as the conversations taking place without it.
