Overdiagnosis? Seems timely to reshare...
In CAMHS, little evidence of overdiagnosis of emotional disorders, rather the opposite - many children and young people with diagnosable mental health disorders not receiving a clinical diagnosis or timely help.
doi.org/10.1111/jcpp.14090
Clinically-referred children and young people with high levels of mental health needs - 67% scored v. high for ≥1 emotional disorder, esp. depression or anxiety disorder.
But only 11% received a clinical diagnosis of an emotional disorder from CAMHS.
