The apathy of Council, and Members { #engineers } of this professional Institution, - at a time where #accountability couldn't be more fundamental to proper #corporate #governance and #ethical behaviour, - is, of itself, a form of complicity. conscientious-observers.com/…

Tom Felle, the journalism lecturer at the University of Galway is now not responding to questions about his faked Phd, which he initially defended as genuine, forcing RTE to file Freedom of Information requests and an appeal. With that scale of deception, Felle is likely for the high jump. What sort of questions might Felle be asked? "Tom, did you defraud the Fulbright scholarship programme of €10,000's with your fake Phd?" The more serious questions are for his employer, the University of Galway - led by President David Burn with ex-FF minister Maire Geoghegan Quinn leading its governance body - which says that Felle's fake qualifications are a "private and internal matter" Not when students and funders have been deceived. The taxpayer sinks €100m+ into that university each year, so the FF higher education minister James Lawless might find himself in the firing line if there are no answers forthcoming.
"Any questions about the veracity of academic records would be a matter for the [University of Galway] university to address internally and privately" RTE Prime Time claims to have exposed the fabricated academic qualification of Tom Felle, a journalism lecturer at University of Galway. According to #rtept Felle has deleted his LinkedIn, isn't now responding to questions and University of Galway is claiming the question of Felle's claimed PhD qualification is a private matter! RTE reminds us of previous issues with journalism degrees in Galway ... "In 2018, the university (then known as NUI Galway) refunded fees to third and fourth- year students after complaints of substandard quality in some journalism courses" Here is Tom Felle, in 2018 and in 2024 after he grew the beard.

This could be Galway if only @GalwayCityCo, @GalwayCoCo and @GalwayChamber had the vision and ambition. The NTA believes it is feasible.

Did you see the slight of hand ? RTE cutely replaced the thumbnail image on their bomb hoax story. It was this image below for past few hours, now its a garda car. They've changed it because of all the comments on the Garda standing about. Damage Limitation Control.

In a bid to save his 2028 run, @JDVance is suddenly blaming GOP election crash on 'Not Ending the War' on Iran. Ok, so now a 'war' again? But just last month you were trying to bamboozle Americans with clever doublespeak claiming, "I wouldn't call it a war..." (clip below) No principles. IOW: if the GOP kept the House and Senate, then Vance would have told you that it was referendum on how great the War is going. Let that sink in. In the end, it's increasingly hard to believe that these people are anything more than political opportunists who will say/do anything to seize and maintain their grip on power...
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Public health put at risk by 600 incidents at wastewater plants last year ✍️Caroline Doherty At one point, nine million litres of raw sewage flowed from the Ballybofey-Stranorlar plant in Co Donegal over six days because Uisce Éireann failed to respond promptly to the problem. “Many environmental incidents could have been prevented, and environmental risks mitigated, by better management,” the #EPA said. “Uisce Éireann must address this without delay.” #IrishWater #EPA #WWP irishtimes.com/environment/2…

8 years living in Italy & use their Ukrainian passports to come to Ireland in 2023 as “refugees” 📍How many instances of this👇🏼have happened on your watch @HMcEntee @SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD @OCallaghanJim ? “System” resources must be recouped if secured under false claims
Lovely chat with a Russian-speaking Ukrainian family on the way to Milan. They were left homeless in 2015, left for Italy. In 2023, came to Ireland as refugees. Used the system to get on their feet and bought a house this year. They will never return to Kiev 1/2

But somehow the Epstein Coalition's war on Iran, the ethnic cleansing of South Lebanon, the murderous pogroms in the West Bank, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza are all fine.
Canada will deny entry to any Russian and Belarusian athletes and staff, as long as the war in Ukraine continues, as per Mark Carney "If you're asking specifically about the World Junior's the Russians will not be there" This is despite the Court of Arbitration for Sport saying Russia should be allowed to participate in IIHF tournaments, with the next big tournament the WJC in Alberta this Christmas #cdnpoli
