The mural captures the essence of unity within the community, and reflects the diverse voices and shared experiences that define MAPA’s collective identity. Read on for more 👇
'Roots' features depictions of Newby Square flats, a vibrant scene from Peoples Day - an important event in the MAPA calendar - and popular activities such as music, pool, art and crafts. The title 'Roots' was inspired by Mikey Roots, a revered local musician, community leader and figure of immense respect who is honoured and celebrated within the piece as a representative of the MAPA community.

Paid at the living wage foundation rate, we are looking to recruit 10 young people aged 18-24 to build their skills and experience within arts and culture organisations.
