With her porcelain beauty and a cool sophistication that seemed to conceal turbulent emotional depths, Tierney emerged as one of the most arresting stars of Hollywood's golden age.

"The Exorcist" is the GOAT of horror films. Even something as simple as Chris MacNeilβs walk home is chilling. Every frameβfrom the trick-or-treaters to the nuns to a blood-red door and Father Karrasβs crisis of faith drowned out by a jetβquietly signals the nightmare ahead.
