As Rep. Matsui noted, "There is something particularly remarkable about PDTs: they begin with another person. Plasma cannot be manufactured in a laboratory. It cannot be distilled from a plant or synthesized using chemicals. Producing these therapies requires eligible donors to take the time to donate. And it takes many donors to meet the needs of patients."

For Dominick, plasma isn’t just a donation; it’s part of his treatment and his quality of life.
After being diagnosed with multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), our CalPlasma Ambassador, Dominick, began treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), a plasma-derived medicine that helps manage his condition and maintain his quality of life.
In his own words, “It takes thousands of people to go into my IVIG. And it’s not just helping me. It's helping people who have serious burns, injuries, hemophilia patients, primary immune deficiency patients. I can’t stress enough how valuable plasma is to me.”
Now he’s sharing his story to raise awareness about the patients who depend on plasma-derived medicines every day.
