Please join me in congratulating my dear friend @AlsobrooksForMD on her resounding election as Maryland’s next United States Senator. Angela becomes just the second woman elected to the U.S. Senate in Maryland’s history, following former Senator Barbara Mikulski.
As a fellow County Executive, I’ve worked closely alongside Angela to govern during some of the most challenging times in our state’s history. Through it all, Angela has led with fortitude, determination, and resiliency to ensure that every Maryland resident thrives.

President Joe Biden has always been an incredible partner for Howard County, the State of Maryland, and the United States. He has served our Country with excellence as a U.S. Senator, Vice President, and most recently as our 46th President of the United States.
I know that this decision was not easy, and is a testament to President Biden’s willingness and ability to put our Country and our Party first. I wish the President the absolute best as he completes his term in office.
While we may have political differences, there is no room in our democracy for political violence. Regardless of your political affiliations and personal beliefs, we must come together to condemn this kind of violence.
