🚨Self-congratulatory tweet alert🚨
I have just released the 200th episode of the Mr Barton Maths podcast.
Some stats:
⌛️9+ years
⏲️410+ hours
🔊2 million+ listens
There may be some young whipper-snappers doing podcasts these days (@adamboxer1), but I'm still very proud.

The biggest short-term teaching problem is ATTENTION. Students who aren't paying attention can't learn.
The biggest long-term problem is MEMORY. You can smash out the best lesson ever, but if you don't have a long term memory strategy you're wasting your breath.

What a BRILLIANT read! And a pleasure to make a summary of @MrZachG's fantastic new book on explaining.
So many useful ideas for the classroom and a must read for anyone wanting to find out about explicit instruction or refine their practice.
