We've confirmed more than 5,000 planets beyond our solar system. If we add sound for each new world, you can hear the pace of discovery during 30+ years of science. Tones are changed by the planets' distance from their stars. exoplanets.nasa.gov
5,000 Exoplanets: Listen to the Sounds of Discovery
In this animation, exoplanets are represented by musical notes played across decades of discovery. The lower the note, the longer the orbit. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/M. Russo, A. Santaguida

Blue glass beads from the Late Bronze Age. Found in 1885 when a farmer ploughed up a cremation urn at Kongehøj in Denmark. Analysis shows they were made in Mesopotamia c. 3,100 years ago. Evidence of long-distance trade connections.
