We all want dignity and a decent quality of life for ourselves and those we care about. Ahead of the Budget, the Disability Poverty Campaign Group is calling on the Chancellor to invest in Disabled people's lives, not deepen poverty through further cuts.
The Disability Poverty Campaign Group (DPCG) has sent a letter to the Chancellor, John Healey, urging him to break the endless cycle of disability poverty and to rebuild trust between the community and the government. Read the full story & letter here: disabilityrightsuk.org/news/…

Social security should be there for us all when times are tough, but often it's not enough to get by on. Today we’re giving evidence to MPs about why Universal Credit levels need to change, to make sure people can live through difficult periods. #OpportunitySecurityRespect

We shouldn't have to choose between being active in our community and keeping the financial support we need. But new research shows that 80% of Disabled people worry that being active could put their benefits at risk. Financial support that should enable us to be independent.
📢A benefits system should enable Disabled people to live their lives, not make them afraid to live them. We are calling for a fairer benefits system for all. Join us in #DismantlingTheActivityTrap tomorrow👇 tinyurl.com/4ba7n9cz

Disabled people are a community who care, but recently MPs and the media have tried to divide us based on our diagnoses. Please share your experiences to help push back, explaining why all people should be equally respected, whatever impairments and conditions we live with.
Benefits and Work want to hear from people with ADHD, autism, anxiety or depression, and their carers, about the extra costs you face. Your contribution will help to build a case for protecting cash benefits for people with these conditions. buff.ly/dxqNZrs
