A bit of a foggy start to the day, and a plethora of Slippery Jack #mushrooms (Suillus luteus) on the morning walk… 😉🍄‍🟫🇪🇸

Good to get all the demijohns racked off the bentonite today; micro-ferments are a lot of work! Considering the tough season the grapes had, the aromas are amazing. Not keen on dark rosés, but there’s no denying it makes the fruit really punchy… 😉🍷🇪🇸 #wine

Oops! Just remembered I have a bunch of #wine that needs racking off the bentonite. Always amazed at how many K/bitartrate crystals stick to the side of the tank. Bit of elbow grease scrubs it off! Twelve more demijohns to go… 😳🍷🇪🇸

Day Two, and a wind-free day means we’re not having to peg the nets down. It’s a great view from here, but an iPhone doesn’t do it justice. 400 Kg’s picked, so still a long way to go yet… 😉🫒🇪🇸 #OliveOil

Day one of #harvest and it’s a bit of a breezy one, to the point where we’re having to peg down the nets. Let’s hope it’s not the shape of things to come… 😉🫒🌪️🇪🇸 #OliveOil

A walk around the terraces planning the strategy, as a call from Santi means the mill might be opening early this year. Just awaiting confirmation before we crack on with harvesting… 😉🫒🇪🇸 #OliveOil

A legacy of the previous owner; spring #onions are planted randomly across the almond terraces. They’ve started to sprout after the recent rains, and when cultivated they actually produce a decent bulb. Quite a strong flavour though so I just leave them where they are… 😉🌱🧅🇪🇸

Good to see the #tractor back on home soil with a new clutch and crankshaft seal along with a few other repairs completed. I never get used to garages returning your old parts (although they are yours after all) as if to prove the work was done… 😉🚜🫶🇪🇸

A day of moderate rainfall with the rain gauge currently at 37mm. Still more to come tonight, but so far today we have harvested roughly 2,600 litres. What this means in real terms is that if we manage to start next year with 30,000 litres, we won’t have to buy any water… 😉☔️🇪🇸

A day of light #rain delivered 13mm, which equates to about a thousand litres of water harvested for the house. Looking forward to seeing more rain over the next 24 hours… 😉☔️🇪🇸 #photography

It’s not been a great year for #pomegranates, but the few that we have got are now ripening… 😉🍹🇪🇸

It’s mid October and yet it still topped out at 26.8°C today - absolute madness! They reckon the nuclear power station will be decommissioned in 2030, but then they keep extending its life so I’ll not be holding my breath. More strimming completed… 😉🫒🇪🇸 #photography

There’s a few more days of strimming ahead as we move closer towards the #olive harvest… 😉💪🫒🇪🇸

This poor little Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi) lost its legs during the hailstones on August 24th, but has carried on keeping vigil over the #vines ever since… 😉🕷️🍇🇪🇸 #photography
