Found a indie game developer's website from 2001 that used this gif instead of a logo.
You couldn't even make something like this today. We don't remember how.

This #Godot plugin lets you draw levels directly in the editor. This is so useful, especially for gamejams!

You can now paint grass, rocks and trees in Terrain3D.
This tool is getting closer and closer to a definitive solution to landscape in Godot Engine.

Textures in place! Added a neat trick where I darkened some vertex colors to emulate global illumination in a more stylized and controlled way.

Hey #gamedev!
I updated my "cheat sheets" on different techniques for creating sensations in players, to reflect the difference between using positive and negative reinforcement.
I'm still on the fence as to whether or not the term "Game Feel" is accurate here, though!

Hey, if you're new to Godot and still haven't heard of godotshaders.com library then maybe bookmark that, because it has a bunch of cool stuff that's absolutely free and easy to use! 🔥
There's also a twitter account @godotshaders!

Bounding box, the most useful modeling tool of all 🔥
Made as a Blender 4 node tool. Feels like cheating. Took me so much effort to do it in python before
Node tree in the end of the video!! 🌳

if you have ever struggled texturing/unwrapping a mesh (and who the heck hasn't) I think you will really smile when you see this image!
it explains the power of "hotspot texturing"! automated UV mapping of tricky shapes in a click

The best new feature in Blender 4 is NODE TOOLS 🔥
Before this, you could only use geometry nodes as modifiers. Now you can use them as quick one-time operations! This is beyond powerful. Best thing to ever happen to Blender
Here's a simple node tree to make pipes from edges:

So I've been using Godot for a month now and it looks very capable of 3D!
Let's do a quick recap. Right now it has these things out of the box:
- Indirect light (VoxelGI, SDFGI, SSIL)
- Volumetric light
- Screen-space reflections
- Depth of Field
- Auto-exposure
- SSAO
- Decals
- Light cookies
- FSR upscaling
- Realistic physical sky shader
- A cool built-in surface shader that does all sorts of things including refraction, proximity fade, billboarding, etc
- Occlusion culling
- Auto LOD generation!
Things that are missing for now, as of Godot 4.2 are:
- Motion blur
- Texture streaming
- Color grading and curves (only LUTs for now)
- Custom post-processing
- VFX graph (like UE Niagara or Unity's vfx graph)
- Lens flares?
When these things find their way into Godot (especially motion blur and custom post-processing) it's gonna be quite something!

Texture streaming: github.com/godotengine/godot…

Updated my compact Godot theme!
Now it wastes even less space, and some margins that were fucked before are now fixed
